Once hired a cleaner from a dodgy firm. When it came to doing the cleaning you couldn’t see them for dust. Coyit got and on me way.

There was some good home video footage of a user who had set one to run at a certain time whilst they were out at work. Vacuum kicked in at 11am, dog fast asleep on the settee 5hat itself, vacuum cleaner spread it in neat lines around the room.

Do you have a dog? :)

On a more serious note, I recently stayed at a Travel Lodge in York and the cleaner was using one in the room opposite. So they are used industrially

Yeah, I bought a DeeBot Omni X1 about a year ago, and it's one of the best domestic gadgets I've ever bought. It hoovers and mops and does a decent job. We didn't have any carpets apart for the stairs in our old house, so I bought the X1 (My wife has allergies). You do need to remove the pads on it if you want it to just hoover the carpet, but for the time being, we use it downstairs on the Karndean. In the old house, we'd take it upstairs and clean the entire house with it. The X2 you don't need to remove the pads when moving from hardwood floor and that would be better suited to our new house in reality with a mixture of carpet and hard floors. I'm looking forward to when they can climb the stairs on their own though :D

It has a base unit where it goes to fill up and clean the pads when mopping and empty the dust. That makes it a bit more expensive but it's really worth it for minimum hassle. It builds a 3D map of the house and you can name different rooms and tell it which room to clean using voice commands or the app. Integrates with Alexa also. Highly recommended!

I have recently bought an entry-level robot lawn mower. Also, it's a great buy! :D

Didn't you say you had a condition when it came to buying electronic gadgets Gally? I can't imagine at all what you mean from reading this post.

I've got one, they're good. We have a dog and the missus has a dress making business so it's great for cotton and dog hair. It can't replace your normal vac but it helps us keep on top of things. Depends what type of floor you want it to clean on and there's hundreds of models out there now

We got one of those Eufy ones, only the basic one with a mop function. Works great. Got two cats (ragdolls) and the other half has long hair, does a good job getting it all but have to detangle the hair every now and then.
