What's the weather like in Barnsley? It's been raining in Selby for most of the last two days.

No chance the game will be off?

No chance it will be off or even a pitch inspection will be required.

I won't be watching it laid up with the lergy. My mouth felt a bit dry at work yesterday and my voice began to croke. By 10pm last night I had sore throat. Hardly had any sleep. Felt a bit better this morning but as soon as I started to talking to a few people my voice became cracklier than Jimmy Nails. Feel crap. Lied in bed shivering.

I’ve had it over a week now. Better than a few days ago but it’s dragging on. Missing another one tonight.

It might be too late for you but a flu jab is worth considering for all ages.
Non qualification for a freebie means paying about £20

Just had e-mail from work offering me an appointment for both jabs. COVID and flu. Just hadn't got round to booking myself in yet :(.

    I'd definitely get both.

Incredibly, it seems the criteria for the covid jab has been pared back. Initially my wife could get the vaccine quarterly, its now 6 monthly. Given I live with her, I could get the jab six monthly, then it became annual, now it seems I'm not eligible at all.

You sometimes wonder if its more convenient to our authorities that those who need care and support just die.

Finally, after years of turning it down, I’ve opted for a flu jab - in fact I’m taking the Covid one as well. Good knows how I’ll feel afterwards but it’s a case of free medication being on offer so it’s silly to refuse.

Anyone had both together? Any side effects?

I've started with the exact same symptoms, apart from the shivers, hopefully I avoid them. It was only a couple of weeks since I recovered fully from a 3 week cold!

Just aching arms. I've found drinking plenty of water in advance of the jab then taking paracetamol about an hour before and then for the next day really helps alleviate any mild flu like symptoms.

Think it's a wise choice. There's been a new covid variant starting to burgeon and there was a significant increase in hospital admissions and those reporting the illness. And obviously with so few people taking any precautions at all, transmission is likely to grow swiftly.

I’ve had both previously but they didn’t send for me last year, and not heard anything thus far. Don’t know if they’ve changed the criteria for those who qualify for free jabs or not

So far, even despite my wifes high risk category, we've always had to make all the running to get one booked, I don't think we've ever been contacted to take up the jab.

The criteria is anyone over 65 and anyone in an at risk group, I would imagine a list of who falls into the the at risk group is on the NHS or govt websites somewhere. Though as I touched on earlier, those living with immuno compromised people have been removed from the group able to get it.

I've got a lot of the above ailments and to top it all my doctor now says I have hypochondria.

It's just one thing after another.

I had both last year, no ill effects. My wife felt unwell for a day.

at the risk of tempting fate, we've had both each year with no probs, although we have always had them at different times.
And I don't mean my wife goes the day after!:D

I’ve always resisted the flu jab because of so many stories you hear about feeling ill after it. Well I think it’s time now. I’ve had several messages over the last couple of weeks saying I can go to this pharmacy or that and finally got one today from my surgery. They are giving me both jabs at 1126 on Saturday morning. How precise is that!!

You might get an achey arm. The best thing to do is more it around quite a bit about ten minutes after having it done and then at regular intervals for a few hours afterwards. Don’t start doing push ups or anything really strenuous but definitely don’t keep it still!
