From Leon Wobschall Nice line from the very amendable Wycombe manager Matt Bloomfield at end of presser. 'At least our goalie never fell over this time..' he quipped.
Wasn't that before our board of directors intervened and dictated a change in tactics to a style that in their opinion would garner more bids for players rather than a higher finish in the table as admitted by Khaled?
At this point I’d go with a back 4 of RB - Lofthouse RCB - Pines LCB - Roberts LB - Earl and try to sort the rest of the team out from there. I think Pines is still getting his fitness back and will improve.
Correct. He also did an immense job at working out what our weaknesses were and strengths, and playing to them.
He knew our midfield was crap so bypassed it. But we've now got the best midfield in the division....haven't we?
Just a little amendment! Having said that it was nice to celebrate 2 goals in the ponty end, if we're going to draw it always feels better coming back from behind. We know how Wycombe play though, and Clarke played straight into their hands with the starting 11
Another clueless outing. This season it seems we've got the double whammy of neither coach nor squad being up to it. Anyway, until we have someone to run through the middle, we're stuck. Instead we have Connell Craig DKD and Benson all of whom can do the same thing but can't do what we need. You can smell something worse than anger and frustration on the terraces. Disinterest is in the air.
Weirdly, we have done a few times this season but seem to have stopped the last few games, no idea why
I don't agree. He's directly at fault for goals or at best good chances almost every week. He's far too soft, no pace, switches off too often. Genuinely don't see any positives unfortunately
This could have been an essay, but I’m that disappointed that I cannot be ar*ed. So a diluted review… The team selection was beyond wrong. Four centre halves in a back four. Two holding midfielders as centre mids. Two right wing backs as wingers. A number 10 up front. Absolutely barmy. It started brightly regardless. I assume our latest new formation confused Wycombe briefly. But the game sadly reverted to the expected bore-fest within 10 minutes. It was about as 0-0 as you get, that first half. Very different after the break. Two awful goals conceded, again, but some good signs to twice fight back for a point. Only after accepting the initial shape and lineup was wrong. Back-to-back disappointments at home. Hopefully we react in a Yorkshire derby this weekend. *start Benson, I’m sick of saying it ffs
