Barnsley Football Club are delighted to announce that Breast Cancer UK will be our third kit front of shirt sponsor for the rest of the 24/25 season, thanks to a generous donation from long-term sponsor, Rapid Response Telecoms. Rapid Response Telecoms and Barnsley Football Club have a well-documented and ever-growing partnership with RRT’s Managing Director Dominic Wood, who was recently appointed to the Club’s Fan Advisory Board, with the objective of building a better relationship between the club and its fans. Dominic is proud of the hard work that the fans and the football club carry out across the community, and Rapid Response Telecoms identified an opportunity to highlight the ambition of Breast Cancer UK with collaboration from Barnsley Football Club. Tommy Lunt, Operations Director at RRT, commented: “Rapid Response Telecoms take our corporate social responsibility in our community very seriously, when we learned on the ‘Let’s create a sea of Pink’ campaign, we thought it was a great opportunity to get involved and help promote the cause behind the campaign. “Cancer affects over 2 in 5 people in the UK, and Breast Cancer UK are a great charity working tirelessly in prevention. Their works include Activity and Dietary initiatives which yield a wider array of benefits that help reduce the stress on our health and emergency services. Come on you Pinks!” Barnsley FC Chief Executive Officer, Jon Flatman, said: “We are absolutely thrilled but not shocked by the generosity of Tommy, Dominic and everyone at Rapid Response Telecoms. “The company has supported the community for over 15 years with incredible initiatives from bringing back the Barnsley 10k to sponsoring all manner of sports teams. To have paid the market price to donate the sponsorship deal to a charity close to their hearts is outstanding and we are so proud to have Breast Cancer UK’s logo sitting on our shirt.” “We are thrilled to be supported by Barnsley FC this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They will be wearing their pink third kit throughout this month. By doing this, the team is helping to raise awareness about preventing breast cancer and how people can reduce their risk with regular physical activity," said Lydia Ferguson Ray, Senior Philanthropy Officer at Breast Cancer UK. “Together we can have a significant impact in helping women and men start their breast cancer prevention journey, so future generations never have to experience this devasting disease.” Barnsley will wear our pink shirt featuring Breast Cancer UK on the front for the first time for our game at Huddersfield Town on Saturday. Great stuff, not before time. https://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/new-kit.331529/page-2#post-3319781 They should give a cut of shirt sales to the charity.
Great gesture. Now the club could do with sorting some sort of activity to raise money for the charity too so fans could go and support it further while wearing their shirts!
On a lighter note, the photo they have used looks like it says "prevention saves ives". What's St Ives got to do with it
Just wondering if they have thought of offering to have it put onto the pink shirts already purchased wouldn’t mind paying a fee especially if it went to the charity
Have i missed something have they said that they will put it on for free not seen that said but I do sometimes not see things
Someone messaged them and they replied saying they’ll do it. They always put sponsors on shirts for free so no reason why they wouldn’t this time.
