Would love the head coach to come out and say it as is "this job is too big for me". Unfortunately, he'll not own it and chuck his players under the bus again - you wonder why the players aren't playing for him. He's out of his depth and the only thing that preventing me from calling for his head is that we've got a Sporting Director who's equally out of his depth. I have no confidence in his ability to manage the recruitment of this football club.
I usually like to give managers a chance. But I wouldn't really argue with getting shut now. Not seen any evidence that he could turn this round. Poor recruitment certainly hasn't helped, but players who we know can compete in this league (e.g. Connell) also look completely out of depth.
If only we’d signed a striker in the 4 months it was obvious we needed at least 2. Yes DKD isn’t a striker we know but I’m not sure what he is? He looks hopeless.
Which system? We play 3 crap ones every game. And none work...... Too many players out of position in every single formation he picks.
I think it has something to do with; 1. Our severe lack of fitness. 2. Clarke's ability to make a poor side worse with wholesale changes.
I can't even get angry anymore. I'm in that I couldn't care less mode. I've never known a Barnsley team give the ball away so much and look so toothless. It really is (performance wise at least) a relegation team at the moment. It's an horrendous watch.
The last 3 games have been shocking, Huddersfield were there for the taking in the second half but we just didn't have any patterns of play or individual quality to do it.
Another poor display. Sick of seeing us putting 10 men behind the ball at set pieces and then having no outlet to clear to, so we simply keep allowing opponents to recycle their attacks. The usual lottery of 3 subs at the hour mark, and quite how Cosgrove stayed on instead of Humphrys is beyond me. Minimal attacking threat and the usual frailties in defence. Quite glad that there's no league game next week, to be honest.
Wow we're such a poor side.. blame Clarke all you want but selling our better players and signing cheap maybes is certainly proving not the best of strategies is it.. When we won 3-1 at Villa and 4-0 at Wolves... Not that long ago... But seems like another life time with how far we've fallen.. Well done to all those connected to this shambles
If it happened it needs to be a documentary, imagine him and Cosgrove now in the changing room... "here, where's Cozzy, what the **** was that?? It's alright for you lads picking your wages up, you don't give a ****, you'll be out on the lash tonight with your lip pumped, fake tits pumped up girls... I'll be out with my missus, and do you know what I'll have burned into my eyes?? That ******* pink kit and you useless ********.."
It’s not just down to the head coach this I’m afraid. It’s recruitment. We’re so weak in certain areas. Especially full back. Gent, O’Keeffe and Cotter are conference at best. You can see Craig is going to come good with age but he’s making mistake after mistake with the ridiculous balls being played into him and the scraps he has to work with As for up front, Cosgrove - how on earth did brum pay £2m for him?? The owners need a long hard look at the squad and look at improving us fast cause Hudds looked light years in front of us all over the pitch. Yes, Clarke trains the team but he’s only working with what’s in front of him
We're looking at the results of our owners systematically breaking down our team and selling them to the highest bidder and expecting free transfers and minimal amount signings to be able to cover those holes left behind. Managed decline.
And that’s the point. At least we’re consistent! In that we are badly run off the pitch; dreadful recruitment; poor Coaching; and inept on the pitch - individually and collectively. The long term problems at this Club are absolutely immense, and show no sign of improving.
