I got 4 letters all in the wrong place with my 2nd word so by elimination of past words etc it left little else and I managed a 3
I got it in 3 as well - Nothing with first guess 1 right and 2 wrong place second guess and all correct third. Bit lucky with how things fell but I dint think it was a particularly tricky one
I think it was cos I’d got no letters after two guesses and only two in the wrong place after 3. Maybe I need to wait until later in the day to attempt it.
I did mine as always, straight after my breakfast so I’m not too sure that the time of day helps! I do find though with some puzzles it helps to leave for a couple of hours if I’m struggling and then go back to them
I've more or less got it sussed.now. Usually do it in three or four and if it comes to a multiple choice of different letters, I try to slot.in a word that uses all of the options so that I'm not wasting turns. I'm still.on 100% after 485 attempts.
I think it was Richard Osman who said right at the start of wordle that there was only around 2000 five letter words. I think he may have under estimated it a little but yes they are on the downward slope. I guess they could do a reset and start again I suppose
The Scrabble dictionary has ~9,000 5 letter words, and the free online dictionary 180,000...! Apparently the Wordle dictionary has around 13,000.
I think he said there were around 2000 words that would be used as an answer, but more that would be accepted as a guess.

I’ve had a look back and Osman said that there was around 2500 five letter words in common usage. The wordle creator however included over 10000 words in its dictionary for players to use as part of the strategy in getting to the day’s word
Got it in 5 took 4 goes to get the 2nd 3rd and 4th letters in the correct places then could only think of one rather dubious word to fit Not impressed with todays
One of those really annoying ones today where you get 4 letters but there's still so many options that the other letter could be. First failure in 34 days.
Did it in 4 today but letters dropped fairly well. Didn’t need to resort to using words with say 4 unused letters when I knew 4 of the actual ones to figure out the answer
