The ease with which an unfit and slightly overweight Herbie Kane, not a speed merchant at the best of times, accelerates past Earl is bad enough, but that header by Maël de Gevigney is unforgivable. Well, in isolation you let him get away with one, but he does a couple of things equally as bad every week. There's no need to head it, it's going through to keeper. But if he's unsure what's behind* him and doesn't get a call then he has to head it back up the line, or out of play. He heads it to an opposition forward in the centre of the pitch. It's schoolboy stuff. He's not fit to play. He's simply not good enough.

*There's no reason at all he should be that unaware of what's around him.

He also had no idea where to go for the first, he should have charged at the ball instead of giving their player an hour to pick his spot.

He's a dreadful player. The fact he's been a regular in the team for so long speaks volumes.

If Mael de Gevigney was called Bob Smith or Jack Shepherd would he be playing week in week out despite the obvious lack of ability?....... Do we think the more exotic sounding name has more re sale value?

When I saw there was a race between Earl and Kane I went and made a cup of tea, put the washing out, ran a half marathon and came back just in time to see Kane beat him for pace.

I can't believe someone on here asked what the French was for "Rolls Royce" to describe MDG

I was happy to give MGD time to settle, remember what Mads was like when he first arrived into English football?
The difference is Mads got steadily better, MGD is not. He terrifies me every time the ball goes near him.

Earl is a left sided centre back, not a left back. Kane new this and exploited it, fair play to him, clever football.
I was slightly disappointed that Gent came off, I thought he’d had a reasonable game. He stopped more crosses in 60 minutes than Cotter, OKeefe and Earl have done in 10 games.

Yeah I don't think we should keep playing Earl at left back.

Just me left in the MDG fan club then? I mean yeah, not great but he is just one of 11 total plodders on the field at any one time.
Any criticism seems to forget throwing his head in the way of 2 first half attempts.
Also, whilst he may have lacked awareness for the 2nd goal, he (and us) should have heard nothing other than a massive keepers voice instructing him / aiding him.
Again, his lack of awareness led to a goal, 14 others showed lack of awareness for 93 minutes (again).

    Scapegoat season in full flow.

Must admit I’m torn on him. One minute he can do a superb tackle or great pass and I’m like “that looks premier league quality” and the next he can do something absolutely brain dead and look conference level. I suppose that evens out to league 1.

We were truly spoilt to have Andersen, Kitching and Thomas as a back 3 at this level because we’ve looked so poor ever since.

Just checking but is MDG this seasons scapegoat? or is it Slonina? Or Watters? Or Cosgrove? Or Marsh? Or Connell? Is it O'Keeffe? Or is it maybe KDG?

Because all of them have had **** tons of criticism so I struggle to see how anyone can argue that one out of our team has been made a scapegoat of.
