I saw him walking his dog on the outskirts of York and asked how Alex Mowatt was performing this season. Adrian Chiles replied that he had been "phenomenal". When I mentioned Daryl Dike, he said he comes on and looks like a world beater and then goes off injured. Shame for him. Re Valerien Ismael, Chiles remarked that "he had no Plan B", which certainly coincides with my view. Chiles asked how we were doing this season, and I filled him in. He said he'd keep a check on our results. He himself came across as a really nice, friendly bloke.
I like the fella and his dry sense of humour. To others he's seen as miserable, but he cannot help having a resting bitch face.
Bit harsh. I know our football can be frustrating at times but I don't think he meant any harm by it, no need to give him a kicking.
I also enjoyed one where he had a walk, ending up in Scarborough, and a series in which he went on a pilgrimage with half a dozen other people, including a blind man, a Muslim, and the less than delightful Edwina Currie. Chiles is a tolerant man, a very good listener and not someone who foists his own views on others.
