Nobody on here are demanding instant success are they? Just a ******* shot on target will do for starters
I agree, Clarke was dealt a poor hand with regard to recruitment. Unfortunately, for him, the Board, in an effort to look dynamic, will ask him to pack his bags while they go in to recruitment mode which on past history will take two or three months and we'll no doubt be rebuffed by 4 or 5 potential candidates before they announce another underwhelming appointment.
I’m not calling for him to go and I’m trying to not have too much reaction from tonight but it’s getting worse. Each game we are getting worse. I have no idea what our style of play is and nobody seems to play as a team in our side. He’s got a quite a bit of time on the training ground now before the next game and if we are still looking as clueless after that, he’s going to start being under real pressure.
So let's get rid and start again? Rinse and repeat. Let's pay him off and blow a **** load of money in doing so. The club is already poorly managed off the field, I'll stick my neck out and say give Clarke time. Collins had my backing last season despite the hysteria and hissy fits on here calling for his sacking. Unfortunately the board got rid to try and deflect criticism away from themselves.
He’s absolutely not good enough but he’s been appointed and needs to be given the chance. Should have gone for Bloomfield in the summer from Wycombe or tried harder to get Wellens. Two managers who we have come across who seem to have game plans.
Can you enlighten us what that 1 trick is? Been watching/playing/managing football for 40 years and I can't work it out
He's not inspiring the players with confidence either! Constantly blaming them post match; he's losing respect from them weekly.
This team isn't boring. They don't have a passing streak long enough to be boring. They lose it quickly one way or another to the opposition, and then we have to hope that the opposition don't score.
I never wanted him, I said from the start he was a bang average lower league jobber and that’s what he’s delivering, bang average lower league dirge, he might turn it around. But there’s no evidence at this level that he can.
Saturday. They looked like a team of strangers. When they got the ball, couldn't find a man from 5 yards away, no urgency, no creativity, no passion, no tactics. Tonight. Different team. Same performance. At 1-0 down I noticed Killip get the ball and threw it down in front of him, looked up for an outlet. All 6 Barnsley players in view on screen were strolling down field and not a single one looked back. Absolutely disgraceful. Our coaches at school used to drum it into us. "Turn and face...turn and face...." Something is clearly wrong within the entire squad
Be careful, you’re getting close to saying they’re not trying, Merde Tete will be along to tell you that after listening to an interview with Adam Hammill it’s impossible to imagine players not giving 100% every game, and to suggest otherwise is ridiculous.
Once you start throwing players under bus week in week out players just down tools then it's one slippery slope down hill. The last 6 or 7 performances shown that
At some point we have to admit the recruitment was wrong surely? Do we do it now while there's a chance to salvage the season or wait and risk being drawn into a relegation battle that the players simply don't seem up for? Relegation from the Championship cost us between £5m and £8m per year approx. What would League 2 cost us? A massive drop in season tickets for a start. An away end with 200 to 300 fans each match. I don't know. I wanted to like Clarke. I wanted to believe in what he said. But the evidence is showing that he lied, that he can't get a team to play attacking football, win matches and get fans off their seats. He actually can't get the team to make four or five consecutive passes, much less four or five forward passes and the only time fans get off their seats is to walk out. I don't expect instant gratification or to win every match. But I do expect some degree of entertainment for the money I pay. I do expect that the team will look as though they're trying - they've only looked to be doing that for a total of 30 minutes or so out of the last 360. Said it before, I'll say it again - Asbaghi had the team playing better than Clarke and it's generally accepted that he was ridiculously out of his depth.
