Why on earth are people calling for Clarke to go?

Its worrying though, when he starts coming out with bollock.s like there being a gulf between us and the dog botherers, does he not realise we have eyes of our own?

well i don't like sacking managers and should give them time. Our board however have previous for pulling the trigger early. In some cases even earlier than the fans.

the league doesn't look any better to me. We have lost games to very poor teams from my perspective. What i do see is a squad who look far off what we had last season.

Relegation to League 2 would be an absolute disaster but I don't think we will be that bad.
I'll stick my neck out and say give Clarke some time. In regards to your comments about Clarke not being able to get the team to make 4 or 5 consecutive passes. These are so called professional footballers who train numerous times throughout the week, if they can't make a simple pass to a teammate then maybe they shouldn't be playing because they also need to own it and start taking responsibility.

So yeah, I'm probably in the minority but I'll say stick with Clarke and give him some time.
However, I want the board gone and I'll be vocal about that on here, times up for JAQ, Neerav, James and Jeane. They've shown how incompetent they are at running a football club and it's time they found something else to do.

Absolutely no point even discussing sacking the manager. Could he be doing better? Yes, but he deserves a shot at turning things around.

The truth is sacking another manager will only put a plaster on the true problems, which are the owners & the recruitment team. They don’t have a clue & any new manager will only have the same problems.

What needs to happen is the supporters need to hold the owners to account, we need to voice our displeasure, protest, ask the proper questions, maybe the supporters trust can play a role on our behalf for a change?

There's no point in sacking him. The problems at the club are more deeply rooted than Clarke. We just start the cycle again and hope that we drop on someone who manages to get us into the playoffs.

Although it is rather amusing to see this stance from the OP - when he spent all last season calling for Collins to be sacked.

Because Clarkes football is gash doesn't make Collins any better.

Where's Collins managing now? There's a reason for that. Shopp ashbagi Collins now Clarke in space of 4 years.

    *warning unpopular opinion*

Nar.. got to give his more time than this to turn it around.. Bit ridiculous this through it away and get a new one culture..
Plus if we don't give a coach a full season, then who is going to take the job to replace him?. What would be next, 6 month contracts.. month to month? Who the f'erk would take the job?
We tell the players board and staff to knuckle down. no one more than me. It's time for the fans to knuckle down. Give DC a fair crack.. Then if you don't want to renew next season then fair enough.. If you didn't renew this season and your just mouthing off then who cares..

I think the best way to sum it up is all of the above it's not one single thing that's wrong. The solution is far more complicated but regardless of the standard of the player's they need to be well coached and have a clear system to operate within. I'm not a knee jerk type of guy or prone to over exaggerating but we could have lost every game this season not one game have we dominated and looked in total control. I didn't think Clarke was a bad appointment but must admit when I heard him say words to the effect that actual coaching was not his strength more man management and organising it rung alarm bells. If he's leaving it to Stead,Davany and Hourihane I think in there lies the problem and if he doesn't have the skill set himself to sort it he needs to go.

I’ve not been impressed with Clarke. The only performance I enjoyed was Bristol Rovers at home. However the sporting director needs to be sacked before the head coach.

I could see all the issues last season, plenty on here could. We had very little pace in the side & we had no options to move away from 3-5-2 due to having no wingers or full backs at the clubs.

To find ourselves in the same boat two months into the season is nothing short of incompetence.

There’s one left sided player employed by the club & he’s a 19 year old who’s only played 20 games of professional football. How has that happened?

They can’t claim budgetary reasons because they’ve signed numerous midfielders that we don’t really need. They don’t know what they’re doing.

I hate the whole ‘anyone could do a better job’ because most of the time it’s nonsense but no one on here would build such an unbalanced squad. A kid playing fifa wouldn’t end the transfer window on career mode with only one left sided player.

Hypothetically we sack Clarke & then what? Whoever comes in is in the same boat. We’ve either got to play Gent every week & hope he comes good or play players out of position for another 3 months. There’s no easy fix. A managers not going to come in & suddenly find a new formation that no one’s seen.

It’s the same as last season when Collins was sacked & then Devaney picked the same side. Our recruitment is appalling.

I mean look at the state of the bench. We’ve got a head coach who’s never worked with any of his staff before, Stead who’s probably only here because we can’t afford to pay him off & Raith can’t afford to pay him out, Hourihane who everyone’s talking about taking the head coaches job already & Devaney who seems to have to be part of the coaching staff for every head coach whether they like it or not.

It’s just not a professional set up.

A head coach should be working with his staff who helped him become successful enough for you to want to give him the job.

It just reminds me of the Man Utd circus where Ten Hag & others before him are working with random ex-players who are popular with the fans.

That mirrors my views pretty closely.

I'll just play devils advocate with the coaches though. As fans, but generally too, stability, consistency, longevity is welcomed and wanted to some degree. I can see the reasoning to want ex players to be involved around the club so there is some reconnection with fans and perhaps less pull from elsewhere to reduce attrition.

You've also got the issue of increased compensation to bring in a whole new coaching team... And further costs when you sack them in 10-12 months!

I agree though that not having the coaches they might ideally want or have worked with before could be detrimental and you've the learning curve of getting to know how they work etc.

I agree with alot of what you are saying I would go even further with the unbalance on the left as we only have one left sided centre back too. I get none of that helps but we look lost no clear way as to what system is or style of play and that's got to be down to Clarke and Co. You could argue we have a weaker squad than last year but Collins had to play Williams out of position and put up with Mccart and much as it wasn't great to watch he had a way he wanted to play this guy and I accept it's a small sample looks clueless

I have expressed my thoughts about the Sporting Director on other threads. I can't help but think that he, along with Flatman, is another layer for our owners to hide behind. Flatman and Sormaz are employees of the Club and their remit will be set for them by the owners. Just like a Head Coach with an unbalanced playing squad, if the punters get restless they can be discarded in an attempt to divert attention away from where the real problems lie. We have a board with not much brass and little knowledge of the game and how to build a viable squad of players with the right coaching staff.

For me all the above reasons are plausible but if we take it to the mere fact that there’s 11 pro footballers on the pitch who seemingly can’t put a passing move together that’s what has annoyed me over the last 3 games.

I’m normally exempt to being annoyed at anything with the club because it’s pointless, but pro footballers not being able to find a pass or move to a pass is a massive bugbear for me.

Agree 100% that the board are completely incompetent but they can't be replaced unfortunately.
We're stuck with them and it's hard to see why anyone would want to buy us.

All I keep reading on here is "were unfashionable" "why would anyone want to buy us". With an attitude like that then no wonder people on here are so negative about everything!
Take a look at Wrexham, what was so appealing about them when they were stuck in the conference and Ryan Reynolds and the other fella got involved. I'll back Clarke for now but it's the end of the road for the owners, they've had chance after chance and they are not learning or demonstrating any sort of competence on or off the field. In fact off the field it's run like a ******* Sunday league club. The sooner they sell up the better. They're not wanted.
