The Great Escape 2. Where all the prisoners decide not to dig tunnels and they see out the war peacefully in the camp. We follow their daily lives walking round the perimeter wire. Riveting stuff.
I keep telling ar lass im going to by the rights to groundhog day then simply reissue it as groundhog day 2 this time next year rodders we will be millionaires
I went to watch Joker 2 at the weekend, and although I wouldn’t say it was a bad film, it certainly wasn’t a good one. The singing was good, but there was no story line as such. I was waiting for something to happen but it never did. Shame as I really enjoyed the first.
Godfather II was the best sequel of all time in my opinion. An honourable mention to the Lord of the Rings sequels, The Two Towers and Return of the King, both much better than the Fellowship of the Ring again in my opinion.
Thats a good question Rich kid lol, and I'm interested to know what they are doing here. Also, I see that Estevez and Sutherland and Diamond Phillips, are maybe coming back again, for Young Guns 3. Despite the fact that they were killed off loads of times!.
Recently I saw The Expandables 4, and what a waste of time it is. This 'series' really had something going for it to begin with, with loads of big name action stars. I think 3 was pushing it though, and in 4 we have to put up with the likes of Megan Fox running about, pretending to be a big action star ar*se kicker. Pathetic to be honest, and even Stallone only half-starred in it, maybe he was doing other things at the time, like Rocky 12 and Rambo 9.
When you look at everything mentioned, virtually every successful sequel tells a good story that is either a new narrative or a strong continuation of the original. Most bad sequels tend to be "franchising" ie trying to cash in on a brand for minimum effort. I think this is why not many of the marvel films get a mentions (although in fairness Captain America: The Winter Soldier deserves a mention) For me, I think: Star wars: The Empire Strikes back & Rogue One The Dark Knight (That Two Face character arc!) Glass (The character inversion at the end to tie the entire trilogy together while flipping the narrative on its head is a masterpiece)
Me and you usually agree on films but I really enjoyed Expendables 4. I thought it was the best of the series so far
