Just got back from Hull with the Mrs and young un’………superb fair but **** me it’s dear it was absolutely packed!! It was the last night tonight but highly recommend it next year. Been into Hull for a bite to eat and that shopping centre is dead, it was like a ghost town which was sad to see really…… We parked in the old town and as we drove to the fair it looked like there was some good pubs, a might give it a whirl one weekend, anyone been or love that way? If so would you recommend a night out?
Welly club at Hull is alright, although the last gig was I attended was Roland Gift, probably pre Covid. Stayed at Burton Constable for a weekend earlier in the year. About 20 minutes drive from the centre of Hull but a fabulous countryside location. Catch a bus from nearby Sproatley to Holderness Road, then its pubs and beer gardens as you stroll towards Hull.
Hull fair ?. Yeah I think it was very fair that they lost to Wigan. Ok I admit lol, I couldn't resist that cheap little dig at Hull Kingston!. Its my favourite part of the country is the East coast... Hornsea, Skipsea, Brid, Aldbrough, and Scarbrough etc.
I've also heard Beverley is a good night out to have (from Hornsea), and the regular bus route there and back, is very handy. Or if there's a few of you, share the cost of a taxi back home of course.
I live and work in Hull. Bang average night out. Beverley, Hessle and Cottingham all better drinking spots. The Marina is good in the summer and that’s about it unfortunately. Used to be a cracking night out but like a lot of places, prices customers out.
I used to deliver food in Hull. The supermarket I went to was surrounded with barbed wire to stop the thieves getting in, and the barbed wire was surrounded by razor wire to stop the thieves stealing the barbed wire!
