Would have preferred an English manager, but there aren’t really any stand out candidates, and i think it’s a strange appointment. His track record is good, but he’s hardly a Southgate style yes man. Be surprised if he isn’t in charge for the next game though.

People saying it’s a good appointment on paper. Is it though? In his last two jobs he’s been sacked in the first year. One was a PL Club, the other he managed to become the first Bayern manager in 13 seasons not to win the Bundesliga.
Agree he did, but I reckon Tuchal got a bit more about him, would have preferred an English manager but hes as good as we could have got being a foreigner imo
Yeah, on another post I said similar, I wouldn't have him if it were a league format. But it isnt, its a cup format and hes a brilliant cup manager. Can see issues with him and the FA but it's certainly one of the best appointments we could have hoped for mate.
