    He's switched allegiance to Jamaica and made his debut for them v Nicaragua last Thursday. I wonder if this triggers any clauses.

    It would have been remarkably prescient to have inserted a “£250,000 payment when allegiance switched to Jamaica” clause. We can barely get the FA Cup paperwork right.

    I think the clause would be more like "£250,000 payment when making senior international debut". The country is irrelevant.

    Wouldn't that clause only apply if he made the appearance while contracted to Everton?

    Even if he wasn't i still think it counts? Its how a lot of clubs get money from youth players. Not sure mate. Id suspect Everton were smart enough to put clause as only England though surely? Lots of players have availability to lower ranked nationalities, Jamaica, Seychelles, Montserrat, Gibraltar etc. Id be surprised if they counted? Hope so though!

    what makes you think it wouldn’t be country specific ?
