Disagree. It's a long time for words when Labour have cut jail terms of people who have done much worse. Have her out in public doing community service and give her some awareness course and a big fine.
Race hate is a despicable crime. And telling folk to set fire to buildings with immigrants in. Deserves a custodial sentence. Awareness course does nothing in her case. Anyone with half a brain wouldn't put out what she said in the first place. No excuse for me. Husband a tory councillor. I guess the household discussions weren't exactly immigrant friendly.
It isnt just words in this instance. Calling for hotels to burn with people inside them is insane. If she had just said deport them all, then I'd agree with you, regardless of my own views.
Which will also apply to her sentence, so a complete false equivalence. Not a Labour initiative either. It was in the pipeline regardless of who won the election as the prison population had hit capacity.
A government/party that imo saw/sees poverty as a tool. (Race to the bottom) Which in turn creates crime. Which in turn fills jails. That the government of the day failed to find space for.
The wealthy then blame minorities for their woes to deflect attention away from the fact they're the only ones who have done well out of austerity

She's very lucky that the court lowered her sentence due to the apparent mitigating factors of her being a 41 year old woman who has given birth. Should have been charged with terrorism offences as she didn't only say for people to burn hotels with asylum seekers inside but actually called for people to murder the government as well.
Her words go way beyond being “hurry words”! This person is lucky that it’s only 31 months - whilst I understand the current “early release” necessities at this moment, I’d gladly make an exception in this person’s disgraceful bile!
A party that closed 18 prisons in 14 years and only opened 9 new ones. So making the prison population crisis worse. Also the same party that let Chris Grayling - the same Chris Grayling who signed a contract with a ferry company that didn't have any ferries - attempt to privatise the probation service...
Good. I'd like her to meet most of the immigrants I meet at the Village Spa every day. They run some of the best businesses in Leeds. Anyone with any sense can see that most of the people who come over here are highly motivated. Like all things a few are criminals & we need to get shut of them. We have enough of of our own. Raising racial hate at the moment needs to be stopped.
