Just watched his interview pre-Saturday. What a likeable lad. He's been v lacklustre on the grass, in my opinion, since he's been with us, but if his enthusiasm is as infectious as it seems, he'll have a positive impact on his colleagues as connections develop. All to play for!!
Completely bizarre isn't it. Comes across a bit as maybe a few signings were sold down the river regarding who they were playing with Clarke says that he will only be playing in an injury crisis. Is that what the fans were originally told? I knew he wouldn't be playing every game but only in an absolute injury crisis is a bit different imo
Ignore me read it. Doesn’t really clear anything up one way or the other. Just throw away comments. Clarke & the club clearly just agreed to him coming back on whatever terms Hourihane wanted tbh.
Personally don’t get what the fuss is about over CH. Yeah came as player coach, but he’s realised he’s not got the engine any more, and prefers the coaching side. Shame, but having him still as a coach is still a bonus in my eyes - and will always want the best for the club. He can be trusted. Can’t see what the club or player could have done differently. I suspect if he wasn’t coaching here, he’d have hung his boots up in the summer already, he just wanted to help us out and have one last season with us.
Be interesting to see where his wages are at. Bet he’s probably paid more than both our first team & coaches on the whole.
I don't have an issue with him only being a coach if his weekly wage drops appropriately for his new job title.
The club aren’t daft - and CH won’t be a robbing ******* either. He’ll have been on a reasonable basic, with add-ons etc. I’m sure most fans having seen him play for Swansea and Derby knew his game time would be limited. Hasn’t the legs anymore to do loads of games.
