Yes he was pretty decent though how he didn’t book their sub Onamah for at least 3 yellow worthy fouls is a strange one Also the last minute “foul” by Earl on the edge of the box when he clearly got the ball would have had me upset had they scored from it Probably the best ref we have had this season though
He was decent. 6.5. How Josh Onomah stayed on the pitch is beyond me though. Not to mention the extra minutes at the end of the game, and then on top of that, the apparent foul Earl gave away for their free kick in the dying seconds...
Subs took about 1 mins 20 seconds to start again at the start of the 4 minutes and then there was a goal celebration. A few challenges he missed of Blackpool that should have been bookings. Both teams were victims of him pulling back a free kick instead of playing an advantage. Should have booked the Blackpool playing trying to win a penalty with a dive every bit as bad as the Jalo one at Huddersfield.
I wasn’t there, but sorry that game has never happened where the ref gets every decision right. That’s not a criticism of the ref yesterday it’s just that ref’s can and do make ‘honest’ mistakes.
Just an observation of mine that when we win the refs generally get plaudits on here and when we lose they generally get rubbished. I'm sure there's no connection between the two though
Well in my case it’s not a connection, I’m pretty critical of the refs and most of the time it is justified with the main reason being their inconsistency. Of course they will make mistakes, I can accept that most of the time, but Hate the way they penalise one challenge then not a similar or worse one for eg.
Well I thought at 1 each this was the best ref I had seen so far this season . Thought the extra minutes and the Earl Free kick could have cost us.
Sounds like he got some stuff wrong. Seen both teams fans commenting that one of their players was lucky to stay on the pitch yet never even got booked. (onomah)
