For the last few games Clarke sits on the bench and Devaney is stood coaching.. Do we know why? Just wondering
The thing I noticed was that when our subs were made Clarke gave the retirees a big hug with his arms around them, and they with him too, so all can't be doom and gloom.
Devaney has regularly been stood up this season, it’s not anything new that’s happened recently. Last season Stead was Collins’ number 2 whereas this season Devaney appears to be that to Clarke. Is this the start of a conspiracy theory that Devaney is now the head coach? Extending from when it was said that Clarke doesn’t take training and instead sits in his office all day yet seemingly every time training pictures and videos are posted, Clarke is always present.
Nothing new in this for me. Davaney has been in the dug out and often stood up and barking orders for the last 3 seasons it’s not specific to these last few games. All the coaches will work on different aspects of the game and all see different things during the game. Ultimately, Clarke will have final say and control on what the coaches do so he gets all the credit for these 3 improved games for me. Nice to see Davaney contributing though.
Noticed on Tuesday night Conor barking instructions, & I must admit he looked a natural. He’s definitely our next head coach in the making.
This is something I've noticed as well. Earlier in the season it was Clarke and Whitehead standing in the technical area. Obviously Whitehead has gone to Stoke but Clarke does seem to be less present on the touchline since the international break with Devaney being more prominent. There were instances in the two games before the break where Connell looked confused with instructions from the bench and I don't know if this is one of the reasons for Clarke sitting more. Ultimately, whatever works for the players and the team is paramount and hopefully it continues as no doubt the performances have improved.
Bloke in front of me usually stood up telling them how to play until I told him to sit darn. Since then performances have improved. So all down to me
Well, it's always good to get up early on a Sunday morning to a conspiracy theory. Especially when you get up at 6:00 to watch the Premier League, and you cheeky buggers put the clocks back and I have to sit around and twiddle my thumbs for an hour. We really need to get this DST adjustment synced.
I've seen all 5 coaches instructing the players, Stead and the keeper coach do seem to stay sat down more often than the other 3.
