Pretty sure we were bottom or thereabouts when I started in the October of that season.

I'd allus thought over the years, Ray Wood mate was afore ironside. But looks like they were together at the same time. So I must have seen him play. Having thought not.
    65-69 ironside 113 games.
    66-68 Wood 30 games.

Yep looks like they missed Murphy out. Pretty sure that's Graham to his LH side. Probably sub.

We got relegated in 1958/9, four years after promotion from 3rd North in 1954/5. As I've mentioned before, my first match was a 2-1 victory over Leeds on 20th August 1955, our opening game after the promotion season.

Can't remember which season I first started going. All I remember was the theme from 'The good the bad and the ugly' being played each time I went, the smell of bovril, the smell of fags and a scoreboard I couldn't understand

1978/79 my first proper season too. I vaguely remember being taken to the odd game the previous season by my Dad, but I was only 7 or 8. John Peachey looks like Borat in that photo
