We've just booked a bolt hole somewhere near Warwick just after Christmas covering New Year on a whim and there were very few options. Depends what you want to do while you're there but I'd say have a look and see what's available. If you use Air BnB, they show things on a map view for the period you are looking for and your criteria so it's pretty easy to work out what locations are suitable and what may not be.
We stayed in a wonderful cottage in the summer. Right in the middle of Ambleside but with off road parking. So nice we booked for next year
I've spent Christmas in Ambleside. It was mint. I'd recommend a house rental. I can look back at where I'e rented from in Ambleside as I've done a few but a google search is probably better.
Laura's second year at the University of Cumbria was at the Ambleside campus. Christmas in Ambleside is stunningly beautiful, Roy, old mate.
Many years ago I used to use a company called Holidays Afloat in Ambleside and stay on a motor boat on the lake. I don't know if they are still there but I'd recommend them if they are.
I would look to book asap as the Xmas-New Year period is the busiest time for guest houses, hotels, Air B n B etc in the Lakes
Not sure if it`s the same place but I think you might mean Elder Grove B&B on Lake Road. The people there Matt & Lucy are brilliant and try very hard to please - you won`t pay a fortune and it`s a good experience. Ambleside at Christmas is top notch.
Take plenty of money cos it's a reyt ripoff in Ambleside. Wife's daughter lives there. We prefer Elterwater but maybe too quiet for you? Try the Britannia Inn?
