Just been on radio, I listened whilst having my snap and her opening statement of wanting to emulate Margaret Thatcher should strike fear into the hearts of the working class of this country if she becomes leader of the Tories.
She is a very dangerous lady.

There was a time I thought Sayeeda Warsi was the devil incarnate. But she's been spectacularly trumped since then to the point she seems relatively moderate. Patel, Braverman, Badenoch... I really don't know where they keep getting these people from.

I agree she’s a nut job but I wouldn’t worry about her getting into power. There’s no way this country would make a black lady prime minister regardless of the ill feeling towards Starmer.

Robot factory. May was literally a robot, and she started this race division off as home secretary - playing into Farage's hands

Generally it was Eton and/or Oxford in the late 80s. Those who didn't go into politics ended up in international sex trafficking or something.

Think I prefer the known quantity of Bad Enoch over fairweather Jenrick who will say anything to garner popular opinion. The Nazi Keir Starmer.

So Reeves and Starmer are not striking fear into the hearts of the working class.

Not fear. Despair. They have boxed themselves in with their tax mantra, have made a bad start, won't even contemplate rejoining the single market or customs union and are already well down in the polls from a low % base (yes I know there's a long time left but nevertheless). Its despairing because in 4.5 years time Reeves and Starmer may very well be responsible for letting Kemikazi or mad Bob into power.

Why did anyone think initially it would be better given the mess they inherited and have to put right?

They are already working closer with the EU and attracting record investment.

PAYE tax won't go up as the manifesto said.

Hopefully the budget will confirm the direction they want to go in and improve things but it won't happen in 3 months.

Pointless even trying at the moment mate, the EU wouldn't give it a seconds consideration. It's a long negotiation where we would have to convince them that we were acting in good faith (would you trust us?) and that another government won't come along in a few years and screw it all up again (odds-on I'd say). I suspect that we will rejoin the EU, but it won't be in my lifetime and probably not in the lifetime of the youngest BBS poster either.

You do realise most of the 'record' investment was actually mainly down to Sunaks term, Labour basically just put the top back on the pen after the signatures.

The result of the Tory governments. Less people being born to work and pay tax for an ageing generation.

We will be so much more screwed in the decades to come.

Really? Where was it for the last14 years then?

The economy flat lined under them or did you not notice that and the affect it had on our services andceducation system?
