FA Cup 2nd Round draw

As usual with uninspiring draws, would have preferred an away tie at a ground I’ve not done, but at least it’s winnable and gives us a chance of being in the third round draw.

Thankfully it's Bristol Rovers, our only home win since February

 

the last time we met in the FA Cup at Oakwell we won 4-2, I think.

 

It was 4-1 and I posted about this in the other thread. Hignett hat trick and Dyer with Jason Roberts getting a late consolation for them. Was a very noisy cup tie

 

Bristol brought many fans that day if I remember right.

 

Yes they did because they were having a good season and believed that we could be beaten. It was a terrific, old-fashioned FA Cup tie

 

They did, some of em somehow got into t'Corner Stand and showered us int Ponty wi coins n drink.

 

Bruce Dyers goal was a beauty, the only link contains some dodgy yank commentary

I was sat on the ponty right behind the point Bruce connected with it, my word what a clean powerful strike that just arched away from the keeper, sublime.
Your right we had some magnificent players, had we had Higgy in the PL season I think we'd have stayed up

 

the only win away from home this season was against the bottom side Burton

 

Don’t remember that, I do remember the chant of Ghandi, Ghandi give us a wave, to a guy of Asian appearance who was in that corner stand, to which he took in good humour and duly gave a wave and was roundly applauded. All good fun really

 

I always think it’s a disappointment when we draw somebody from the same division
