Drivers just don't give a ***k, Mrs just ordered £40 of toys for my best mates lads birthday.
Safe place noted on order, instructions to also leave with neighbours, no can't be ar**d just leave them in front garden and take a picture, the smaller of the presents gone when she's got home.

It surely can't be that difficult to leave in the dedicated safe place or with a neighbour can it.

It can't but they don't give a flying.

If I get an Evri delivery that is scheduled after 7pm, I know that the usual courier will send a message through Evri that states that there has been "a problem with the address". However, there's never a problem with the address when he delivers it the following day.

There are good and bad from all the couriers to be fair. We had an Evri courier during the pandemic who was amazing. Sadly for whatever reason he gave up his patch about a year ago and the current guy is far from ideal.

Comes down to attitude at the end of the day.

    I couldn't agree more.
The local Evri courier we had for years was brilliant, no problems whatsoever.
Since she packed in, the new one couldn't give a monkeys.
On the last delivery by them, despite me putting a note on the front door asking him to deliver to the side door, he walked past the front and side door (through which he could see someone was home as the light was on) without knocking on either, to put the parcels in the blue paper recycling bin and then posted a "sorry you were out" card through the front door!

Not had a problem with our present evri courier always delivers with a smile and we sometimes have a bit of banter with them.

At least it was left in your garden.
My wife ordered some clothing and she got an email saying it was delivered and left behind the gate in the back garden with a photo clearly showing it wasn't our gate (this was solid wooden and ours is wrought iron). She contacted Evri and they said the tracker showed the van was at our postcode therefore it was our garden gate. My wife said that there are multiple houses which the postcode covers but they wouldn't have it. This went on for 24 hours and they said that they weren't liable as they had delivered it to the correct address and my wife had to take it up with the company who supplied it.The next day I took the photo of the gate and went up and down the street until I found the gate which looked like the photo, knocked on the door and the owner opened their gate to find the parcel behind it!
Fantastic service not only from the driver but Evri who not only didn't want to know but 'proved' they had delivered it correctly!

Better than Uber Eats. Food doesn't arrive, tough! - try getting your money back. Food cold, tough! - try getting your money back. Getting your money back usually sees you banned from the app.

If packages have gone missing and they have not placed in your designated safe space, put a claim in against Evri. You have the photographic evidence that they haven't complied with the specific delivery instructions. Surely they are now liable for any loss.

I had a similar experience with missing food. Got refunded for the item, next time it happened they refused to do anything saying they refunded last time so blacklisted my account for no further refunds. Criminals end of.

Evri are terrible. Even if pay for next day delivery. It's no guarantee you will get it the next day or even the next week

In my experience, I'd actually put royal mail as worse. But everyones experience will be different depending on who they get.... Or don't.

Yeah we're sorted on that front, but we've now had to re-order the one that's gone walkies and pay more as the original place we ordered from is out of stock

They have a very poor reputation online but the one we have is very good. I’m not sure if they get paid dependent on number of deliveries, whether Evri put ridiculous targets on their drivers or he’s trying to keep fit (maybe all 3 perhaps?) but he’s always running from his van to the houses. I try my best to get to the door as soon as I can to try and help him a bit.

My brother in law is a courier and he says paying for timed slots are a waste of money as the driver will ignore and do in the order that suits them.
Next day thing is different though as it means it hasn’t been delivered to the local depot.

Evri is very much dependant on the local courier and I’m lucky that we’ve had two excellent ones; the current lady is very efficient.

Even knows to wait a few extra secs as I’ll be working upstairs.

The one I have always found terrible is yodel. Absolutely terrible.

I'm having an issue with Evri at present. A book I sold on Ebay has raised a complete from the buyer. He received a message from Evri stating "Item too damaged to deliver"

The solution is don’t use these people. No reason why you can’t shop small items yourself is there, ie actually going to a shop on the high street or a shopping mall. Large items you have no choice but small things, and food, why put yourself through the hassle? I really don’t get this Uber eats or pizza shop delivery thing. I like my food hot.

We use them as we can't go to restaurants. Never had an issue with uber eats, deliveroo or just eat to be honest. Nor have we ever had issue with the quality of food or temperature. Again, comes down to individual attitudes of the delivery drivers and the establishment you're ordering from.

Sounds like you’ve been lucky then but I imagine plenty don’t get good service. Bottom line for me though is that I’d rather go out and get food myself rather than relying on some underpaid individual on a bike or in a car to bring it to me.

It’s pretty hard to do that in London. Places can be a good distance away and parking impossible. And our situation makes one contact safer and far easier to control.
