…that I can recall seeing a local derby game allowing pay on the gate. Cash and card turnstiles available for all stands including the north stand for the Rotherham fans. The earlier kick off and live on tv, plus maybe Rotherham’s poor run and our lack of home form, has obviously weakened demand a heck of a lot. My lad is working tonight so I’m coming on my own. (Unless the middle kid decides she wants a burger and a two hour sit in the cold watching her phone…) - for a second I wasn’t going to bother but I’ve just booked a car parking space to make sure I don’t chicken out later on.
Sign of the times I’m afraid. I’d guess not many over 2k away fans, maybe 11k home fans. I think attendance will be higher than the previously arranged Monday night KO. Also think the 7:15 earlier will help as well with more kids attending
Thanks for that wasn't sure if tickets had to be bought before 12pm may just pay cash on turnstiles now I know this. Thought there was a thread other days saying oakwell was cashless stadium now.. obviously not.
I think the kiosks are mainly cashless, not 100% sure; the club shop definitely is - but you can still pay cash for tickets : The following turnstiles are open for this fixture: Norman Rimmington South Stand HOME SUPPORTERS ONLY Turnstiles 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 – pre-bought tickets & season tickets Turnstile 10 – cash/card DX West Stand Turnstiles 24 & 25 – pre-bought tickets & season tickets Turnstile 26 – cash/card Rapid Response East Stand HOME SUPPORTERS ONLY Turnstiles 72, 73, 74, 76, 77, 78, 81, 82, 83 & 84 – pre-bought tickets & season tickets Turnstile 75 – cash/card The Barry Murphy North Stand VISITORS’ STAND Turnstile 47, 48, 49, 50, 56, 58 & 60 – pre-bought tickets & season tickets Turnstile 44 – cash/card There is a late gate open on each stand up to 35 minutes after kick off as follows: Norman Rimmington South Stand - Turnstile 10 DX West Stand (upper and lower) - Turnstile 26 Rapid Response East Stand (upper and lower) - Turnstile 75 The Barry Murphy North Stand (Visiting supporters) - Turnstile 44
Well that's good news because I'm still sat on the fence. Can't beleive that I'm undecided at this point. Never missed a game 5 seasons back. Sign of the times.
I think people are fed up of the kick off times. I just want 3pm on a Saturday back. Zero enthusiasm for tonight’s game.
If it's going to be on a weekday I prefer 715 than 745. It should bring in more kids knowing we all get home half hour earlier. The issue with Rotherham is for a South Yorkshire Derby many fans don't care because we hardly play them so have little recent history. It's when we get to play Leeds, the Sheffield sides and even Huddersfield when we turn out.
I'm missing tonight, due to DJ commitments. Can't be helped I guess, although this is a fixture I always look forward to. Will have to settle for furtively checking the score on my phone every now & then.
