Where do you get them? We've lived here 14 years but yet to find a consistently acceptable chippy closer than Hillside near ackworth school.
Lakis opposite the Star pub in Cudworth another to add to the list They got a very good review from Danny ( rate my takeaway) The family who own it do a lot for charity and the local community too Well worth a visit Recently been refurbished too ...
We went after reading all the comments on facebook and they were bloody awful' they really were as burnt as they looked on the pics' my mum rang to say she'd thrown hers in the bin..
Hey if it does proper fish n chips, with some good crispy batter on the fish, or a good Normy style crispy fishcake etc. With lashings of vinegar and a bit of salt... then yeah it will do for me.
No idea how “burnt” they were for you mate but the chips are “triple fried” at George’s. If you watch him cook, he has 3x separate chip baskets in a line with different fryers. He moves the chips along the baskets hence “triple fried”. It gives off a “charred” look on the chips with a bit of a crisp. I love em like that but not too crispy obviously. I have been pretty regular over the past 6m or so and can honestly say I’ve not experienced what you did. Might have been a bad day I suppose.
No idea pal. They are decent tho so maybe give them a try. What I will say about Mark (owner) tho at Tunstell is that his prices are bloody decent. Just over £6 I think for fish and chips. Fantastic bloke too.
Yeh' could've caught them on a bad day' the chips were ok to be fare but fish and fishcake were deffo burnt and very dry.
Lovely people and the chicken and pork kebabs are lovely' not tried the fish and chips but i would imagine they're spot on.
