I've thoroughly enjoyed this BBC series, presented by the ever brilliant Brian Cox. It has been educational, entertaining, enjoyable and done in such a way that even an old thicko like me can understand & appreciate it. It just goes to show, you're never too old to be educated and learn.
It's a brilliant series, loving the practical explanations. By far the strangest plant is the blue green one though. Teeming with oddities.
I can't quite get head round it. Are the wonderful pics they show, the actual images? Or are they someone's impression of what they might look like?
Very hard to comprehend ( for me) the vastness of it, the little bit we can see ( the observable universe) would take ( I think) 1000s of lightyears to get across, and that's only a speck of the size and it's expanding, I believe everything as a purpose but space and the universe just spins me out with questions like why? how did it get there ? what was there before, ? I don't think no scientist knows 100% the reasons or the why's, truly mind blowing
I'm exactly the same, usually everything has an end, life, land, bottom of the sea etc etc even potentially our poor home form, but the universe might not in all probability
I have a major man crush on Dr Brian Cox. He has an amazing ability to describe mindblowingly intellectual theories in a manner that a simpleton like me can almost comprehend. Have a look at his discussions with religious folk, very thought provoking and confusing for the religious nutjobs. As a scientist, it's ok to admit we don't know the answers to everything, doesn't mean there was a creator, doesn't mean there wasn't, we just don't know........
I've not actually sat and watched it yet, so I'm keen to get it all on catch up. Anything with Brian Cox I find fascinating. He makes things so much easier to understand and does go out of his way to do so, despite his clearly in depth scientific knowledge being far superior to almost anyone.
Contrary to what a lot of people claim, the BBC broadcasts a whole range of superb programmes. Personally, I think the annual licence fee is a bargain.
That's the bit I have difficulty with. Thought there aren't any colours in space! I'm baffled by it, so probably wrong.
