We need to make the most of him as he’s only on a 1 year deal, looks an absolute class above anything else we’ve had up top as a linch-pin in recent years.

He certainly looks the part and the type of player that will thrive in the bigger games as the season wears on.

Watters played really well, but Humphreys was a class above everyone else when he came on. Pretty much every action, perfect, and the goal was superbly taken.

DC has a bit of a conundrum (a good one) because I don't think he can play Humphreys, Watters, DKD and Phillips in the same side.

If Humps is on a one year deal, they should be offering him an extension right now.

Have we got an option for a second year? If not I'd be tying him down to a longer deal ASAP.

I think it is with the option of a 2nd year yeah, but I reckon that will depend on promotion etc.

To get him on a free is some of the best business we’ve done in recent years. Let’s hope we can get a contract extension agreed.

He really needs to shed a few tattoos though, as they are definitely holding him back lol.
This is the thing with the loan market though (like McAtee last season), as we very rarely get to sign a player after a good season loan!.

Ironic that in the summer, some of our lot were unfavourably comparing our own transfer business with that of tonight’s opponents.

We always give our owners a hard time, for whatever reason, yet they always seem to find the right players to challenge at this level. Yeah, we’re one of the better clubs, but it’s not an exact science putting squads together.

So he is a free signing is he, wow! lol.
Ok then, what are the options on keeping him beyond the season, if he keeps on doing well, and what would he cost etc ?.

Why would it include promotion? Never has done before for us.

A brilliant signing. I think giving him the year & then an option in our favour was a good deal all round and hopefully if he stays fit & committed he'll sign an extention. If he keeps this form up until Jan then I'd definitely look to do it then.
Well said - I remember the uproar on here comparing us to Rotherham and their signings, and how quickly the made them. They always left out the fact they also lost 17 players, which if it was this board allowing that to happen, would be slaughtered!
