fight in the middle stairwell east stand

Just witnessed quite a disturbing incident leaving the ground. Some Rotherham fans got pushed out of the hospitality entrance by some bouncers. To say the bouncers were a bit over the top is an understatement. They carried on fighting, pushing the fans down the stairs. Saw a few kicks and strangle holds as well. There was a lady supervisor trying to calm things down, but she'd got no hope. Thankfully no one got really hurt and they left at the bottom of the stairwell. I got some of it on film, but not the worst of it. Spoilt the night really.

 

Anyone else witness this?

 

unless you know the context of the incident it's hard to know what's gone on and not worth speculating

Some behind us were removed. They sounded a bit giddy, then were asked not to vape, then I think they were tackled in the concourse. Steward found a couple of empty bottles that had contained fortified wine. Weird

 

I'm not speculating, just reporting what I saw, and in my opinion what I saw constituted assault, regardless of what had happened prior.

Yeah but stewards vaping and supping fortified wine ain't a good combo. Add to that Rotherham fans who have to put up with their manager who is like 2.5 chukle brothers is a recipe for disaster

 

Was this on the narrow staircase halfway down the stand? Wondered why it was slower then usuall and when we got to bottom could see security with white shirts and black ties in the door way.

Then the woman came in and said to keep the kids back as there was fighting outside the door before opening the fire door to let us out that way and avoid going into the concourse

When we passed the exit gates from the stand it looked like security (both white shirt / black ties and usual stewards were pushing 3 lads from the concourse and outside.

 

Yes that would fit. The bouncers and supervisors were all black suits white shirts and red ties. They were directed out the fire escape at the bottom of the stairwell, I went inside to the gents so missed anything outside.

 

I don’t think anything happened outside after, well at least not until we’d gone round the corner to the car park.

Security had got the 3 outside. Don’t know if they held them a bit until the police arrived or the crowd reduced or just let them walk away

 

Nothing happened outside apart from the bouncer winking at the lads
I thought they were Rotherham fans but when outside it was a mixture of both fans.

However going down the stairwell was a joke, they should have just let them leave rather than goad them

 

You must sit in font of me, thesec5 lads were 3 rows in front of us.
