I actually really enjoyed his interview. Obviously he's going to be looking at things from a Rotherham perspective, but overall I thought it was honest and insightful. The game needs more people like Evans - we don't have enough pantomime villains these days. But he's also a proper football man through and through, and some of his achievements have been pretty impressive.
Correctly disallowed, to be fair, so I wouldn't expect him to mention them or take them into account. But of course I agree with your general point - the game could have gone a different way but I wouldn't say it was "close".
Must admit after Gent’s initial appearances and dropping off the radar i was thinking we had messed up signing him. What ever the coaching team have done to settle him in and get him up to speed in that time out of the team must be commended. Just goes to show we shouldnt judge any player on a few early performances they need to get settled in Hes looking like a cracking signing. Really enjoyed the game last night. It was a decent performance from us. Hadnt been in what felt like ages with holidays and illnes. Decent crowd and good to bump into @Dyson
Coming off the back of comments from Motherwell fans and that Blackburn fans were disappointed to see him leave, I had high hopes. And like you I thought it looked like a mistake. But your right. Not many players hit the ground running. And we've seen it so often in recent years to give players time to settle. Even Russell whilst has taken much longer, I guess DC has been the one to finally unleash him in a more preferred and advanced role. And it's paying off now
Heres the extended Efl highlights. And are the commentators actually calling him George Gently lol, am I hearing that right.
The Gent thing I'm no expert on how Motherwell or even Blackburn play but maybe it was just he needed to learn how to in a 5 or at least how Clarke wants him to play in a 5 he was signed very late. He had little pre season and is still a young lad with lot's to learn but it seems he's quick on the uptake and I look forward to seeing him progress further.
