Fair shout. Sad to hear that.
It amazes me to hear how folk stand by and do nowt.
My Mrs, ex nurse. maybe not so much now, as she's not as young as she was. Hated to see fighting Would always step in (barring gang fights) if someone was getting a beating with me as back up in support. Helping to try calm the situation down. I say that as I reckon a woman has that influence rather than a man stepping straight in, who then may become the target. I've split folk up missen In my day. And fortunately not been attacked. Saying things like come on he's had enough mate or lads. I think folk are more fearful for themselves nowadays as knife crime is on the increase. So don't want to step in.

I'm guessing he's been through this process and I dont know how effective it is. But here goes

Full agreement Acido, beating them at home or away has been my favourite time as a Red. ye we've been done over by dodgy officials along the way but stuff like last time at ours 2-0 then 2-2 and under pressure only to smash it 4-2 lives long in the memory...

if someone was getting a beating with me as back up in support - I had to laugh at that , 'I'm right behind you love'. It sounds like me when I hear a noise in the night - 'I think we're getting burgled love, go and see who it is and I'll help you if I can'

I know what you mean though!! Women tend to have better mediation qualities in this sort of scenario

I say it jokingly but in effect true lol. . She, regardless of what I do would not hang around waiting for anyone else to step in, her instinct as a nurse allus kicked in. Several times i have been there when she has also stepped in if someone collapses etc. Imo saving 2 lives. One a drowning abroad in a hotel pool. A young lad. (There was a great follow up to that one) The other a suspected heart attack in a Blackpool hotel. That he recovered once the paramedics arrived with the defib.

Weds fans don't need to be near a football ground to be **** heads, it's a way of life for them.

There are idiots everywhere in the world we all have them. We have to slap them on the wrists and if that doesn't work slap them even harder next time. It worked when I was a kid, even with the thick ones.

Weird work place. Instead of doing a statement like Sheffield Wednesday have done about the incident saying they don't condone it, they have decided instead to shut their X account.

I'm with Jay on this. Far worse things happening everywhere than a bloke being a nobhead in a football ground. Fair enough, what he has done is appalling, and SWFC should identify and ban him.

    Yep
Literally got off the tube at Wembley to encounter some Wednesday fans who you could tell they didn’t know what day or even the time they where that wasted at around 11am to have them start to call me a peado etc when I had my 11yr old son his mate and dad and my wife. Not the most ideal start to a day out. They have some utter cretins following them as do we unfortunately but I guess by the size of their fanbase they will have many more.

What an idiot. It's a disgusting thing to do but I feel like calls for him to be prosecuted are a bit much, and I'm not sure how I feel about folk hounding his company so they have no option but to sack him.

If he'd been on camera chucking a bottle or throwing a punch in a scuffle people wouldn't be so up in arms despite those things being worse.

I don’t have any respect for him anymore, but I used to like Jon Ronson, and it’s quite fascinating that 10 years on things like this still play out the same as in his book “so you’ve been publicly shamed” if anyone’s read that. Just quite interesting.

Uh oh, what's he done? I liked him as well but I realise I've no idea what he's been doing for probably the best part of a decade.

I think it's very succinct, and to the point. :)

I’m not sure about this absolute destroying of this idiot. He’s been very offensive, I agree. And should be banned for life from the football ground. But to take away his livelihood, hound is family and friends, and generally try to totally destroy him is just over the top. Education, rehabilitation, etc yes…

I’m not even sure if he’s committed a crime? He’s done something in extremely bad taste, but as Jay said, there are far worse things.

The things said to his family and the hounding of his work place seem disproportionate to the offence.

There’s a bunch of Liverpool fans sing about the Munich disaster regularly…. I don’t remember anyone losing their job/house/family/etc

I think he has, something about social outrage or something(not sure of the terminology) but yes not the worst thing folk have done by a long chalk. For me it does highlight what Weds fans are......D1ckh3ads.
