they had been on a really good run prior to that though.
It rarely happens that a side is overrun the week after a good tonking!

Think it was 6-1 to be fair.

Before that, they'd won five on the spin.

We were the better side today, did everything but tuck home the winner. It happens.

Agree on your last point though. I'd have thrown Jalo on for DKD, and there ought to have been Marsh or another as an option too. No sense to me to have both Kyran and Barry as subs. But, I'll never turn my nose up at an away point. Keeps the good run going and we're right in the mix looking at the table, with some crunch clashes coming up.

Yeah it was a mixed performance for me some good bits of quality mixed with poor decision making and on another day we put at least one of them second half chances away but a point away from home isn’t the end of the world we just need to keep the home form going now.

    You're right.
Last week, fortunately, it didn't cost us.
    This week it has.
I'd have him staying behind for an hour after training practicing his heading from crosses, because, with the quality O'Keefe is serving up, we'd be getting an extra goal per game if we had a competent head on the other end.

My only negative today - that abhorrent kit. Not only does it look horrendous, and you can't make out the charity on the front (therefore negating that impact), we can't win in it. Get it in the bin.

The pink and red aren’t high enough contrast and as you say, you can’t see the sponsor which is sort of the whole point.

I noted our goalkeeper is still wearing a Gleesons sponsored shirt too.

Frustrating but we played pretty well & just didn’t take our chances.

The team selection was surprising. I expected Craig for Connell & thought the only other debate was Humphrys or Watters.

I think Watters getting injured probably did us a favour although in fairness to the manager the game hadn’t settled down & it’s probably a bit harsh to say the formation change failed.

I was quite happy that we didn’t make subs in the second half. I thought we played well & created chances. There was no one on that bench that I thought we particularly needed on the pitch over a starter. I even had a bet on us in play as I was confident we would break them down. Just one of them frustrating afternoons in front of goal.

Humphrys was my man of the match but I also think Roberts had another excellent performance.

The less said about the Cambridge goal the better. To describe it as Sunday league defending would be harsh on a Sunday league defender. Why he’s diving in there is beyond me. Just jockey him & prevent the shot.

I did find it strange to see no defensive midfielder in the starting line up today, and it was only this week that Russell had been saying how he preferred playing higher up the pitch.

I don’t like to see Craig and Connell playing together, but expected him to start in his absence.

One positive that came out of it though. Nkawale had a very decent game and looks a very able midfielder. Also, good to see Okeeffe get so far forward.

All in all, had best chances but couldn’t make them count.

I don’t agree on MdG. He does far more good than he does bad, but too many people on here just look for the errors to have a go at him. Everyone, especially at this level, has an error or two in them, but they are overlooked for some players.

Played well enough, but simply didn't take the chances that fell our way in the second half. That's the first time I've seen Kelechi Nwakali and I was impressed. Rarely gave the ball away and nearly scored on a couple of occasions. In fact, he was my MOTM.
Also, seeing as a lot of fans don't like the pink kit, I've decided I think it's brilliant.

MDG was absolutely fantastic today after the first 15 minutes. Slow start but that's why he's in league one. Nobody should tear apart his performance today because of that one mistake imo. Started of plenty attacks and dominated really well after the initial slow start. Really impressed with him and Roberts. Earl had a good game too other than 1 big mistake, but thankfully it didn't cost us - but he still made the mistake. But that's why he's in league one as well!

I like Mad Maël. Is he perfect? No. Is he as good as the likes of Pinnock, Kitching, Sollbauer we signed in a similar left-field fashion? No. But he's better in that position than Jordan Williams. That's not a dig at Jordan. I rated him. At wing-back.
