Agreed. Had an awful game. His passing was terrible. Didn’t find a single Barnsley shirt.

Dare I say. Another very good midfielder who reads the game well and aware of his teammates around him. Always wanting the Ball. I'd say Connell has the edge given his defensive qualities.

Hows about a midfield of :-
    Defensive midfielder. Connell
    Centre midfielders Russel and NWakali.
    Forward midfielder. Dunn.

With Phillip's and Humphries up front.

I watched him in his first game away at Lincoln .
I can 100% say your spot on with your comments.
I had a few disagreements that day.
He was head and shoulders over any other player.
Bit overweight and un fit as he had not been out of prison long.
Went on to become in my eyes one of the best players in my lifetime.
Long live King Ronnie wish I could experience them games at Hillsborough where he ran em to death.

He had a good game but he’s not contributed for the last two & half months since he joined. I think he needs to be regularly involved as a starter or off the bench for anyone to say he’s been a good signing given how much football he’s already missed out on.

Get where you’re coming from mate but that would need us to play 442 which I don’t think will happen. We’ve got some quality midfielders which isn’t a bad problem, apart from keeping them all happy.

Agree but it shouldn’t have taken him that long. Humphrys was in the same boat & has been a regular for a while

Completed 55 out of 62 passes(!). 5 out of 5 attempted tackles, 1 interception, couple of half decent efforts on goal. Gave the ball away once from a really poor pass iirc. Technically excellent and his long range passing is as good as I've seen in a long while.

I also suspect he'd be excellent playing higher up the field like Russell has done. Looks like he has an eye for unlocking defences from a more central position with his passing ability, which is something we perhaps lack.

Will he get the chance? If so can he be consistent?

The pass where he gave the ball away if it was the one on around 88 minutes across the opposition's box his very next involvement was winning the ball back on the edge of our box and doing yet another forward pass.
He should take a lot of confidence from yesterday's game.

Moving your entire family to a different country, getting settled into a new club sometimes it's not just being physically ready but also mentally that's without factoring in pre season, match fitness, managers plans and getting used to the EFL.
Fans are all too quick to write players off, it's not sometimes as simple as clicking your fingers and having an oven ready product
Equally he might not feature for another 3 weeks or have a stinker next week, one swallow doesn't make a summer, but having a bit of patience with players 3 months into a 3 year deal might help?

I don't know the extent of watters injury but I'd say Nwakali gives DC the option of going 3511 with DKD in behind Humps and give Phillips a free license to roam which does best

We can't have had too many players that have won the world cup at any level and we're also voted player of the tournament.
The quality is obviously there so If we can find a role that suits and get him sharpe and interested he could be a cracking player for us.

Whilst I see your point I don’t really think it applies to Nwakali. If he was a player making his first move abroad I’d agree but he’s already spent time in England & had spells in Holland, Spain & Portugal. He’s not an 18 year old making his first steps in the game. He’s an experienced player who’s been capped internationally.

Our clubs losing a fortune every season. We are not in a position to be handing out 3 year contracts & writing off a sixth of the contract for a player to settle in.

Apologise for the repetition but as I said yesterday, best player on the pitch at Cambridge.
    Hoddle-esque.
We need to look after him. Gonna be a real asset.
