I seem to ask this every other year….. but as it’s nearly Black Friday.

Any good deals for a lap top for office work. Word/ excel and access to internet. No gaming. Just need something that isn’t too sluggish.

Do you need Microsoft Exchange email or MS office to guarantee compatibility with your employer's systems or similar? If not and it's an off the wall but have you ever tried LibreOffice? Does the simple things well and is generally compatible with MS formats and you can run it from Linux.

Linux Mint is a user friendly OS that's bundled with Mozilla browser and email software and Libre Office. It's much less greedy on resources than windows and it's free. So it will run well on an older laptop (mine is from 2015, 4gb ram and an intel i5 mobile processor so not exactly cutting edge when new) and runs fine. You can even try it without installing by booting from a USB stick.

Thanks - we have a subscription for Microsoft Office so that’s all sorted.
