His shooting is largely terrible. Leans back every time he strikes a ball, no wonder they usually end up in row Z.

I’d start nwakali over him tbh, always thought connell is just a solid league one player not the £5m player some people think he is

Stats are much better kicking Ponty first half. A myth like we do well under the lights.

I think in general Helen. Most clubs tend to want to kick towards their own fans in the second half.
I'm guessing it was to do with conditions on this occasion. The ponty end part of the pitch appeared to get worse (a lot of standing water) as more rain fell, It wasnt as noticable at the other end. And I sit midway.

Makes me howl the depths some will plumb to find summat to moan about, and not only that, but Connells poor ‘toss the coinship’ has developed into a thread in which to slag him off for his general play.

A few weeks ago, I said I rated both Connell & Phillips and suggested I was perhaps in a minority. I still do rate both lads (I've never seen any player anywhere not have a bad game) & believe I'm still in a minority!
    :D

So you are asking me to believe that we won the toss and elected to kick off?!!! If so, it's a first. Unless you know differently of course;)

I didn't intend my observation to be anything other than a comment on the apparent departure from something that has been a custom at Oakwell since I started attending in 1966 (and goes back an awful lot further than that, apparently). If you bothered to read my initial post, I referred to 'Connell or whoever' thereby implying that it may actually have nothing to do with Connell, but something decided by, for example, the Head Coach. You would have to work pretty hard to find a post of mine slagging off any player, and I've been on the BBS (in all its forms), right from its beginning. I obviously cannot take responsibility for any other poster deciding to do so.

He didn't have to be. Had they won the toss and slected ends then we would have kicked off but we didn't.

As I say it is a choice if you win the toss, or it used to be
