liked reading about how things went full circle for you when father looked after you as a young supporter and years later you helped your father to access the East Stand.

Seems a lot of our dads on here have much to answer for.

And God, don't we miss 'em.

    Sincere condolences, MF.

RIP to your dad. Lovely summary of him getting you into the Reds. I can’t blame my dear old late dad. He hated football :)

Unfortunately player trading leads to a team full of players who don't actually give a ****; as amply displayed today. One team wanted to win ( dispite their abilities) and one team expected to win without putting the effort in to do so.

Sorry to hear that, I know from volunteering with dementia sufferers at the BFC Charitable Trust how devastating this illness can be. At least your Dad gave you a life-long love affair with the Reds, so just try and remember all the good times you had together.

Sorry to hear of your loss, only blessing is that he passed peacefully and pain free. Some great memories of your times with him at Oakwell.

So sorry for your loss. Dementia is a cruel thing. At least your Dad is at peace now.

Similar story to my Dad, who took me to Oakwell in March 1975. He's in a care home in Headingley now battling dementia at 88 years old.

Wishing you & your family all the best, at this tough time.

May your Dad rest In peace. Brought back similar memories for me and probably many reds of our love of Barnsley FC being passed on to us by our Dads. I've was fortunate enough to be able to inflict the red virus onto my Son and Daughter along with my Dad before he became too unwell to attend and eventually passed. He stopped going for a while before my kids were born but couldn't resist the chance to inflict the reds onto another generation and started to go again with us.
