    Massive understatement.

    We had him on loan he then returned to his parent club thinking the loan would be made permanent as a formality and as each day of January passed the move never happened.

    Was this another one of Conway's fine moments?

    What got Linton Brown sacked IIRC. Agreed a fee then tried getting it done cheaper.

    Wasn’t he surplus to requirements at Wigan in the summer when he came on loan? They had a bad start, changed manager and brought him back?

    Apparently it was all agreed. But Linton went back with a lower offer than what we agreed. Which by all accounts scuppered our deal and allowed Wigan to renegotiate and resign him.

    Really wanted him to stay with us. Good footballer. midfield Anchor. always available. never wastes a ball. simple five yard passes allowing team to go forward. Puts in a tackle. reminds me of Gwyn Thomas......but obviously not as good!!
