I’ve defended him a bit on here as he’s not as bad as some people make out but his sub appearances in these last 2 games have been pretty embarrassing. He’s coming back from injury so maybe he needs some slack cutting but you’d think he would be busting his gut to get back in the team, particularly as we play Birmingham at home soon. I think he’s probably more suited to starting a game, roughing the defenders up for an hour and then being replaced for fresh legs as opposed to him being the fresh legs that are being fetched on to make an impact. However, clearly, he doesn’t deserve a start.
I feel for the lad a bit, as I'm sure it's not through lack of effort. He's just not good enough at this level. He bought himself a lot of credit with those two play-off games against Bolton. But if you look at his overall period with us, it ranks with one of the worst I remember from a striker. I was heavily critical of Max Watters last year, but at least he's shown some kind of return so far this season.
a player who makes fans think yes I definitely could have been a professional. Will probably score 20 a season when he joins rotherham or doncaster but he ain't cutting it for us, biggest bloke on team and plays with zero aggression or physicality
I hate slating players, especially the youngsters, like Jalo, Lofthouse, etc, as they are still developing. At 27 Cosgrove is the finished article. Sadly it is probably as a traffic warden, or summat. Certainly not a footballer. Sorry Sam. I know you work hard, but a footballer you ain't, sadly.
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sam...n=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id= goal every 4 games across his career but since coming from Scotland 146 appearances 22 goals - a goal every 7 games - in decline I'm afraid Not many scouts at league 1 and above will be impressed enough to take him off our hands
Clearly very limited footballer - although someone on here suggested football wasn't for me when I said so a few months back(!) - but it's the arms-out pleading with the ref every time he brings another attack to a halt by fouling their defender that annoys me.
Stood up for him loads but it's time for him to depart. January sell or loan out. we need to trim the squad and he's one to start with....Get Shepard back while your at it...
For me that's the problem. He tried harder in those games l, sadly he just hasn't tried as hard the rest of the time yes been here and has instead put more effort into cheating and trying to foul and dive than he has into playing football
He'd wander into the new clubs door, fall over when it looked at him and then rip it off it's hinges and put his arms up asking for a penalty to be awarded against the door
Two good games for us in both playoff semi finals last season and the funniest goal scored at Oakwell in years vs Wycombe. Every thing else been poor.
