    Evening all.

Heading there next weekend for the night, any tips on keeping the trip to within a decent budget as I’ve never been before.

Any decent bars or places to visit to make a note of? I appreciate the Temple Bar charge an arm & a leg but is it the same across the city?

Will be doing the Guinness Storehouse Experience and most likely sampling their Xmas Market too.

    TIA

Cobblestone pub for traditional music and because it’s a bit out of centre it’s a bit cheaper. Wax museum quirky

Fitzpatrick’s on the front facing the Liffey is a good boozer, went in September for the England and had a great weekend, that pub in particular has a singer and will sing literally anything…….great city, touch pricey but well worth a trip

It's years ago now (2013), so I can't remember the pubs. I enjoyed the Guinness tour, with its 360 degree view of the city. I enjoyed the Jameson tour also, even though the distillery is no longer there, and it's just a museum. The library at Trinity College is pretty amazing, if you want a little non-liquid culture.

Bowes on Fleet St, just outside Temple Bar. Best pint of Guinness in Dublin.

If you fancy getting out of the Temple Bar ‘bubble’ then O'Donoghues Bar on Merrion Row near St Stephen’s Green. Proper old small pub with live music.

Bad Bobs in Temple Bar. Live music, traditional Irish and bands. Have had a saxophonist on whenever I’ve been in too.

Temple Bar pub you’re looking at around €10.50 a pint ish (Guinness). Other pubs in the same area probably more like €7/8.

Always have a class time whenever I’ve been. Have a good un!

Only been once & loved it.

It’s obviously dear but we just went to where the action was around the Temple Bar area as it’s a brilliant atmosphere. Every pub seems to have live music & everyone having a singalong. I think you’re better off just accepting you’re going to spend a lot & enjoying it than worrying too much about saving a euro or two a pint & drink in somewhere away from the action.

I went about 20 years ago and loved Dublin, we went this year on our motorhome tour of the British Isles and was quite disappointed. I was shocked by the prices in the pubs and the Temple Bar was rammed to the point you couldn't get in, and that was on a Thursday afternoon... We did have a lovely walk up the river to Phoenix park and O'Connell Street was still ok. On balance, I don't think I'd go again, I'd go back to Galway and Cork, in fact all of the South and West coast was stunning.

I was just coming back to suggest a walk along the river from the Samuel Beckett Bridge to Millennium Bridge and back on the other side and a wander around Docklands. I was going to suggest EPIC, until I just looked up the admission prices!

You must visit Kilmalhen prison museum.
    Spelling probably wrong.
Take your tissues, found it worth while visit in the day time.
Bite the bullet where ever you drink in Temple Bar it's expensive, but great atmosphere if your worried about the prices ,spend the weekend in Barnsley at Wetherspoons.
You will have a great time in Dublin i have been twice.

We went in a bar in Donegal town and it was quite busy with a bloke singing and playing guitar with another lad on a squeezebox. After a while, the bar staff started moving people from the middle of the room to the edges, the room was probably no more than 12 foot square. Two girls came out in the traditional dress and started dancing, you had to watch your drinks! It was a great night, the atmosphere was fantastic with a good mix of locals and a few tourists like us. Probably one of the highlights of the trip. Another great place we went was Derry, had a great night in a packed bar with live music. All-in-all Ireland was brilliant.

Never thought it was dear, it is if you're comparing it to Barnsley prices for a pint but it's cheaper than other cities like Paris, London and NY.

When in a city we like to find the hidden speakeasy for Cocktails, The Blind Pig and Vintage cocktail Club were good. You have to go on the website and book and they give you directions.
