Just over 6/4 for a home win. I know we have a good away record, seems rather generous to me

I agree and noticed that earlier. Very generous considering they've been basically unbeatable at home the last few seasons. Granted we've been very good away, but I thought the odds would be more tilted in their favour.

We are evens on Sky Bet to get at least a goal and 4 corners. That's generous because at some point it will hopefully all click for us.

On paper a home win looks likely, given our terrible away record in Wrexham, going back decades. As Brian Clough once said, the game is played on grass, not paper. It could go one of three ways, win lose, or draw. I'm not a betting man, so I'll watch with interest.

I would prefer 4 goals and 1 corner

I wouldn't put any stock in the historical records given the last time we played them away was over 20 years ago.

We'll win tonight, 3-1. Can feel it in me watter(s)

I must say I do find it very strange when reference is made to historical records (not a criticism of the other poster btw!) It has absolutely no bearing on the game in any way whatsoever. Surely?!

Never beat Wigan at home ( league) and Reading for 20 odd years, very poor record against Birmingham and never won at Wrexham, there as to be something in having bogey teams,we've got more then our fair share.

The last time we played there the historical records had absolutely no bearing on the game in any way whatsoever either. But we still lost. They were relegated.

We lost the time before too.

Time before that I went, it was the Aylott, McCarthy, Glavin era, we finished 6th in the 2nd Division, drew with Liverpool at Anfield, beat Brighton of the 1st division 4-1, we were unbelievable, but at Wrexham, who again were relegated, we drew 0-0 and literally nothing happened.

Time before that, the only other time in my life we've played there, 6 days after I was born, we lost 2-0.

Maybe historical records don't have any bearing, but they certainly seem to.

It's not Wrexham, just probability. There are 92 league teams, we're bound to have a poor record against some of them.

If you flipped a coin 6 times against 92 different opponents there's probably one against whom you'd win all 6, but it doesn't make you any more likely to win flip 7.

Any suggestion that people aren't superstitious and don't act differently when confronted with a situation in which they've previously failed is incorrect. And I would be very surprised if there is no one within the staff at Oakwell who is aware of our previous record at Wrexham. People are emotional beings, they are affected by a whole gamut of stimuli, they are not predictable like a coin toss.

Yes, but every time we play West Brom in a final I expect us to win. Every time!!

Fair point however none of our currrnt players were part of those failures and I doubt they are aware of our historical records v specific clubs

We do pretty well away at Millwall for some reason as well
We had been dire at QPR but that changed recently - mabe its time things changed in Wrexham
Still annoyed its Midweek as I wanted to go but cant do it without time off work so have to settle for the Sky+ with rubbish commentary

The lads playing will have have little focus on it. Some things though seem to happen in a pattern, but any record stands to be beaten at some point. Hope it's tonight. Who knows?

I don’t fancy us at all tonight. So I’m fully expecting us to get 3 points!
