I find it a bit weird that people are criticising Phillips for ‘going missing’ in games & no one’s pointed out that he’s playing higher & wider than he did in the last two seasons so he’s not going to be involved as much.

In the last two seasons we’ve played a 3-5-2 & he was much closer to Connell & Kane.

Now we play a 3-4-2-1 system & naturally players playing higher up the pitch don’t have as much involvement in the build up play.

If you want to see Phillips involved more I think you want a change in system.

This is the one that’s really baffling me. I agree, he looks like a heck of a player. Hopefully Phillips suspension forces Clarke’s hand and he’s in from the start next week.

I think this person will be having a party if he's sold.

He let no-one down at Wembley. It was never a red.

Would never have happened either if the ref had given the stonewall penalty.

I agree with it not being a red at Wembley- but he gave the ref a decision to make

Will look forward to when he’s moved on when we have midfielders that don’t weigh in with the goals that Phillips did. That ire should have been aimed at DKD Phillips was having to pick up his mess that caused that incident on Sat and actually even his first booking was a result of a foul not being given on Phillips for his shirt being pulled and then him going hard but fair on that same player who literally spent the whole game diving. Literally same foul happened to one of our players in our area a few mins later and guess what not a booking. Get lost ref.

24 league goals and 17 assists in 76 league starts. A goal contribution every 2 games. This season it's 5 goals and 2 assists in 15 starts.

    And we want rid?

I think some of the beef with him is that if he doesnt score or assist he can sometimes go missing. Areas of his game need work - tracking back and doing the dirty side of the gig - but let's be realistic, that's why he's with us at the minute and has been for over 2 seasons - If he was the complete midfielder he'd be long gone.
My bigger concern is Luca Connell - his performances have been well below the standard he set himself under Duff. I would strip him of the captaincy as it could be weighing heavy on him and let Roberts have it - he's the most obvious choice being the most experienced and arguably one of the better players this season after a bit of a rocky start
An even bigger area of concern is right wing back - O'Keefe has been woeful in his delivery for the large part of the season and at time makes Jordan Williams look like Johan Cruyff

Our fans are mental at times. He’s not been at his best for sure recently but no way do I want rid. Got a feeling DKD is his replacement though, always thought that.

It’s quite interesting that. I remember a Preston fan posting on here a few years back, saying this wouldn’t happen to them, despite having a really wealthy owner.

I’ve found and bumped the original post. Shows how things can quickly go downhill financially.
