So me the general and little sidekick headed to the wet and windy Whitby today……..after over coming a road closure and driving over a road at the side of river that had bust we finally made it…….

A few hour mooching about we went to The Stables for a meal……all I can say is that if you’ve not been stick it on your list for next year and have a Sunday lunch!!! Wow……absolutely fantastic, we went years ago and I always wanted to go back and it didn’t disappoint, highly highly recommend!!!

We’re very fortunate to live only a few hour away from such stunning places like Whitby!!

    Agreed.
Not a bad drive for me and Mrs Mac. Across the A59 to the A1 for a bit, then cut across country; we like to stop at Stokesley which is nice for a pit stop, or we'll stop up the road and walk Roseberry Topping for a bit before carrying on to Whitby or Sandsend. Raithwaite Hall has reopened after (another) refurb but I'd need Gally's wages to consider going back there.

Lovely drive and like you say, a lovely part of the world.

    We went d
We went during Sunak's "eat out to spread it about " campaign; I must say we were very underwhelmed.
