And yes it has it's bad parts but it can also have such an amazing positive effect on the world and brighten even the darkest days. Six months or so ago a little girl on tiktok called Joules was diagnosed with a terminal, aggressive brain tumour. Joules loved to dance and make people happy and so a while later when Joules's health started to deteriorate further her family asked people to "dance for joules" and post videos of themselves dancing to make her smile and in turn make everyone else smile who sees them. Since then thousands of videos have been posted on tiktok dancing for Joules by everyone from a bin man to Diversity. Joules loved the videos and her family regularly posted about how they made her laugh. They posted a video of her a few weeks ago dancing to say thankyou. Sadly her dad made a video tonight with the heartbreaking news that Joules had passed away this Monday. There's really nothing anyone can say in response to that, nothing that can take away there pain. How did people on tiktok react? They made video after video 'still dancing for Joules' The world is a cruel place and social media can be horrible but let's not forget what a wonderful thing social media is as well. For every bad person on social media there's a thousand others just trying to make people smile
It's not social media itself that's the problem... it's some of the people that use it. The world isn't the problem, it's some of the people living in it. VAR isn't the problem, it's some of the people that use it. Conclusion: People are the problem...
Well said, ST. A beautiful story. Her name and memory will be forever associated with this lovely movement. Bless her. Rest in peace Joules
I agree, lovely story ST. Twitter/X is cesspool but just occasionally the public pile-ons can result in a company being held to account - like below
