With the games we have coming up I suspect you might be right. Hardly his fault if an already lopsided squad is missing key players through injury though. If the bad run continued through to the new year I'm sure more than a few will be clamouring for him to go......
it really won't !! He can only work with what he has available. Just fail to see how folks are blaming him, he puts sides out that create loads of chances, its hardly his fault he was stuck with a suspect keeper and if the forwards can't use the proverbial banjo properly, if they could the defence wouldn't be under constant fear of conceding!
I hope not. Unless its ridiculously bad and performances peter out. The performances have improved and we didn't deserve to lose to Birmingham or Wrexham. He was plenty of work to do, on himself as well as the squad. But we can't keep getting rid off managers after 1 transfer window. Especially when we already know we didn't have the best window. I really want us to be patient with him and give him a couple of windows at least.
Shouldn’t be any pressure on DC in my opinion. If anyone thought we’d be any better off than where we are right now, they must rate this squad a lot higher than I do.
Hes been here 5 minutes really mate. We can't keep doing the same thing over and over and over again. Like I said, I think performance have been improving, he can only work with the tools he has, he can only get us playing good football, its up to the lads on the pitch to work hard, be clinical, work for one another, etc etc.
I agree but if this season looks like petering out into one of transition, which I suspect it will, the pressure to sell season tickets for next term will intensify. With the effects of Sky rescheduling already kicking in I can see the owners being very nervous.
I'm pretty sure they won't. The performances have been pretty good of late, personally I don't think we're too far away. If DC gets sacked it'll be more utter nonsense in the utterly nonsensical circus that modern football has become.
I think this is definitely one of those times that the Manager has some leeway. It isn't his fault the squad we have. Granted he hasn't made things easy at times, but he certainly shouldn't even be concerned about getting the chop.
I understand your point bud, but I dont think getting rid will change the fact. The only thing I think would sway getting STs back in regards to the managers position would be to get someone in who's a big name, and I dont think that would happen, from both sides tbf.
Think you've been itk on this board on behind the scenes things in the past... maybe you know something others on here don't.
On the contrary the injuries might mitigate expected results in upcoming games so he doesn’t face too much scrutiny - and if the results go better than expected, his stock will rise anyway.
Do you think that with this squad only beating 1-in-3 of the teams in this league is ok? I doubt the owners do.
I personally don’t believe he should be under any pressure but the board sacked the last manager whilst we were in the play offs. Unless a bit of realism has come their way then I would imagine they’re already thinking about sacking him given the precedent they’ve set.
I don't think he's very good head coach, is he getting the best out of the players he has? No imo. Have the board and recruitment got alot to answer for? Yes
We need results an the next 3 are vital not only for Darren but the Football Club, the fans an the Town, gates are showing discontent in the ranks and if the BBS as got ought to go by then were already doomed, personally i think we'll pull it off an Darren will be here hopefully for a while, Opinions, keep the faith. C,O,Y,R.
The only scenario where Clarke should be sacked is if we get relegated. The issues we have now are down to Sormaz & the board. Sack them.
Our season is a mess even with our best defence. The league table goal difference doesn't lie. People think our problem is lack of scoring...we've scored 27...other teams above us have scored similar...our problem is conceding...we've conceded 25 goals...that's shocking.
I'd certainly like and expect us to do better, but I'm not exactly confident on the abilities of our squad based on what I've seen. So I'm firmly in the camp that would say to the board, you reap what you sow.
