Spurs considering terminating his loan in January other efl clubs interested according to Peter o rouke.
Would make sense. They will be wanting him to get minutes and we aren’t doing that. We wanted him to maybe be a bit better than he had and less like Connell or Connell further up the pitch to have worked a bit better. That didn’t happen. He will probably go to another club in our division and do really well but just isn’t needed for us right now.
Abit harsh he obviously works with Clarke to identify targets craig was highly rated and did well in the league below last season. For whatever reason it hasn't worked here.
Apart from gent and Roberts yes it's been poor. The 2 loanees especially the keeper have been a waste. I'd say some of the players from last season have gone backwards.
He looked excellent early on, his ball retention was brilliant. Just hasn't been able to play with our midfield it seems. Would be an excellent player for another league one club I think.
I don't think Humphreys or Nwakali have been bad at all. The only ones that haven't worked are Craig and Hourihane as far as I can see.
You not seen our recruitment since he's joined? Next month will go a long way to seeing if he's any future with us. If it's another poor transfer window would you trust him with another in the summer?
Humprhys, Roberts, Nwakali, Gent and I think Smith eventually, all good signings. Hourihane a little annoying but we've improved set pieces so may eventually pay off too. Only really Gaga and Craig (who we were very excited about to be fair) and lack of another striker. Nowhere near disastrous for me.
He's been unlucky that Connell plays the same role in the midfield, and the two didn't seem to work well together. There's definitely a player in there.
Yes I have just like I saw the recruitment before him some of which would appear to have been worse. I cannot recall enjoying one match last season but I have this season. This aint necessarily just him cos its a team effort. Most of his recruits have been a success and then again thats not just him, its a team effort so he shouldnt get all the blame if some bits dont turn out as expected. The last transfer window was more a success than a disaster.
I am not sure Hourihane deserves any praise tbh, he has come in on false pretences claiming he would be player/coach, and let’s be fair here , there’s none of us really know what is involvement is of anything that has improved us, for all we know it could be Clarke’s ideas that are paying off at set plays......and most of set plays involve Roberts one way or another so that’s not really Hourihane is it.
Gaga - poor Smith - no impact on first team Gent - good signing Humphrys good DKD - for the money we paid jury still out Nwakali - not really impacted first team yet so too early to say Craig - poor Roberts - good Conor - pointless so 3 out of 8. Things could change but can’t pretend that’s good recruitment
To add that .....Hourihane definitely pointless and worst signing of lot, they’ve got away lightly by the fact that he’s an ex-player who was very good. Massive mistake and worst transfer business of last summer.
