I think if we set about it properly we could be biggest club in a revamped lower league.

Based on the 6 months that he had last season?

My cousin is a big Oxford United fan, he's said that very few fans down that way were calling for Buckingham to go. They acknowledge that getting promoted last season was a massive overachievement and they knew that staying up this season would be an even bigger achievement. Ultimately they're not ready for championship football. 1 win in 15 isn't great but they were still outside the relegation zone and with January just around the corner they could have added to the squad. It will be interesting to see who they bring in.

That would tie in with revenue as 22/23 records show that the total monies generated by Championship clubs was only 12% of the PL. Interestingly the big 6 generated 57% of the PL revenue.

From our perspective the bottom 5 in terms of revenue for Championship were:
Preston, Rotherham & Wigan £16M each
    Blackpool & Reading £17M each.

Birmingham who many consider to be a big club were at £20M.

    The job is already fecked

We’re finding our natural level in the modern football world. Top half L1 with ambition of the playoffs but nowhere near enough cash to establish ourselves in the Championship.
Still love Barnsley FC but hate football in general and how it’s run….

Mate, I’ve not gone into it in depth, it was an of the cuff comment. Having said that there aren’t that many coaches out there with a promotion to the championship on their cv

Probably right but it's chicken feed at the side of the prem as in society the rich get richer and we know the rest.

They are I get that but there's significant and significant if you get what I mean. It's risk and reward with the ultimate risk been the club it's self,as much as this board haven't got everything right we would have been truly knackered without them post conman & co. The truth is the chairman has no ties with the area and could have taken a small hit financially and walked away I think some people at times want to be careful of what they wish for for.

To be fair the blokes had one window with more hits than misses with biggest been the two loans that can get sorted in January. I think he should be judged this time next year a bit of patience to right all the wrongs in one window is a big ask.

I agree. Think people are going in far to hard on him. Humps, Nwakali, Gent, Roberts. Brilliant signings. DKD, Craig and Gaga still too soon but I think DKD will come good and we were all buzzing with Craig because he was excellent last season. 1 extra striker in and we would all have been wetting ourselves with excitement. Gone tits up is extremely harsh, especially considering were basically where we ought to be. Plenty also had us lower half of table pre season - though to be fair the usual suspects usually do.

Deep down, we all know the recruitment job in Div 1 is close to impossible. The Man City's of this world can take a hundred players in, and if just one of them turns out to be a Phil Foden, brilliant! For us, we need to recruit 5, and 4 of them need to be successful. In other words we need to choose Div2 and non-league players who we think can cut the mustard in Div 1 and be right more times than not.
    Almost impossible.

Foden hasn't scored this season, we'd be booing him out by now, stealing a wage.
