I can't really say why, but I always liked this one too. Vivabeat - "Man From China." I think it's about Chien Lee...
"When the heat is on, when the heat is on,
Man from China will be gone..."

Midge was a founding member of Visage & I'm sure he wrote that song.

Well I didn't know that Sb, so in fact it's not 'strange' after all, he had a proper/real surname.
And as for Midge, I also didn't know that the song Fade to grey, was originally his!.
Wow, you really do learn summat new every day, don't you!. :D

Speaking of the 'situation', here's Yazoo, and hey just look at the pratt in the pink jeans (at about 1:20)!. :D

I don't think it's quite true. The song was written by Billy Currie (who was the pianist and violinist in Ultravox and Tubeway Army) and another guy whose name I forget...Payne maybe.
Anyway Midge Ure added the lyrics.

Hey I'm interested to hear fans talk about Gary Numan, although I think his music was just before my time as a fan, to be honest.
But remember when the Sugarbabes did the song Freak like me, and they were accused of ripping off his song Are friends electric ?.
Well, in fairness to Gary he talked about it and dismissed it, and wished them good luck with it!.

Yeah, I know Midge always liked giving credit to Billy didn't he, during his keyboard parts of a song.
But to be honest though Fw, I've seen and heard so many different fans keep coming up with different opinions.
You know, about him and the Fade to grey song originallity!.

Saw Midge at the Barnsley Civic in an unplugged type session and with Ultravox. Fantastic musician, writer and singer.

Brilliant song. I've also always been impressed with this version of it, which is as much a work of art as a genuine cover version.

    Bonkers idea, brilliantly executed!

Nobody has mentioned a local band who are widely regarded as being one of the most inspirational when they started in the 70’s …. Cabaret Voltaire.

    100% he did.
I recently went to see Midge Ure in Sheffield.
He actually mentioned this then sang it
