Oh, people are silly, it's plain to see,
Thinking Conor's the one for the job, you see!
He played the game with flair and grace,
But leading Barnsley? That's quite a chase!

He’s great with a ball, no doubt about that,
But a manager’s role needs more than a hat!
From midfield to tactics, it's quite a stretch,
Some dreams are good, but this one's a fetch!

So let’s not be hasty, or rush to the fray,
Maybe Conor's better off in the game he can play.
For now, let's cheer, but keep the dream light,
For a manager’s path is a different fight!

    What’s the point?
We are on slippery slope downwards & it’s going to take more than hoping Conor can turn things around. It goes beyond anything on the field. There’s pressing issues off the field that need to be eradicated before things on the field can get better.

    Richard Kell is back...

Beneath the stands, the murmurs grow,
The chants that once swelled to and fro
Have thinned, now faint, like winter’s breath—
    The team meanders, courting death.

    Darrell Clarke, with stony gaze,
Watches plans combust in smoky haze.
    His tactics falter, lost mid-field,
No pride, no spark, no ground to yield.

The fans, with scarves held tightly near,
Recall an age when skies were clear.
    When Hourihane, with deft command,
Turned scraps of hope to promised land.

Not simply skill, but soul and heart—
He made the game an artful art.
    A pass, a strike, a captain’s care—
He forged belief where none was there.

    And so the terraces debate:
Why should we leave our hopes to fate?
Why let this downward spiral grow
    When Hourihane stands ready? Show

Him the helm, the boardroom’s chair—
Let passion breathe in the tarnished air.
For Clarke, we thank your steely try,
But Barnsley’s flame must never die.

    Perhaps in some forgotten town,
    You’ll raise another team’s renown.
But here, at Oakwell, time is due
For one who knows what Reds can do.

    Let Hourihane guide our course—
A steady hand, a driving force.
Let Clarke depart, let glory call,
Before the pride has left us all.

I've just watched Clarke post match interview (he's got them in tomorow).
I still haven't made up my mind about him btw.
He claims, they do lots of work on set pieces but there is just zero evidence of that either today or previous games.
I despair...I really do, we have a very poor lopsided squad but set pieces are very poor but organization has been shocking today.
Thank god for Robb when he plays....the only player on our books who can actually defend!

First half, we played really crap.
But we still had the second half to play.
    This match.
    To save me from tears.
I left before the full time whistle.

does he coach taking them or defending them. Can't see CH coaching how to defend set pieces

I can't believe for a moment that CH is coaching them on defending set pieces. I mean, come on!

I don’t think he does. He stands on the touchline when we have an attacking set piece. When we are defending, it’s usually another coach shouting. I’m not sure of his name but I think it’s the keeper coach?

This is the new ‘get Redfearn in’. Conor Hourihane’s legacy with us means nothing to our players. Either now or tomorrow. We feel Conor’s connection as fans. Players don’t. Not one bit. They’re professional footballers. No more, no less. Giving him the job would be 100% emotional and IMO 100% wrong.

Fans have a huge say in what happens to managers. They forced Collins out and it feels like they’re forcing this one out as well. After 5 months. Utterly unsustainable.

Problem for me is that CH is part of our coaching team and things are getting worse already.

for what we are spending on coaching costs and what it’s actually producing it appears to be a failed project at the moment.

I'd 100 per cent get rid of Clarke and give the Mickey Mouse job to Donald Duck.

If Donald Duck isn't head coach v Wrexham. I fully expect JAQ to sort out the contractual obligations by the time we play Crawley.

Scrap that... I've forgot Mickey Mouse. He should get the gig hands down.
