Sign some right players and a right manager and the season tickets will take care of themselves, the board are supposed to be business people , so should have an idea about this
Dodgy sticks have been around for years. Those using them do not influence when the match kicks off. Sky does. The drop in attendances isn't because people are watching games using a dodgy stick. They weren't coming anyway. Our season ticket sales were very healthy. It's those people who bought season tickets who are no longer attending that the club should worry about. Part of that is we're crap at home so people don't want to go. But also playing a huge part is the amount of games moved away from a Saturday at 3pm to a time that many people who bought a season ticket can't attend. That's entirely down to Sky. It's happened that often that they get out of the habit and don't go even if there is a Saturday 3pm kick off. It no longer makes financial sense to buy a season ticket for many people and the drop off in sales is going to be huge next season. And it's not just happening at Barnsley. There will be clubs going out of business next season.
Saturday’s game was Saturdays game wasn’t on Sky was it mate, yes I know they have been around for ages, to say they don’t have an effect on attendances I can’t agree with though. They have got to have an effect. Not sure there will many if any clubs go out of business next season, they are clubs in trouble no doubt about that but history shows that not a high proportion actually go out of business though.
Biggest reason folks with season tickets weren’t there on Saturday is because we been crap not because of Sky .
Sky is probably covering the cost of fans staying away to watch legal streams they pay for in their Sky subscription. Id say there are as many if not more watching on sticks.
Not sure if that’s true. If I can’t be arsed to go, I’ll still watch the game at home, wether were crap or not.
You're assuming they've even heard of him. I genuinely don't think they have a clue, but more worryingly, they don't realise this. I can't see where the shortfall goes other than they're not used to managing costs productively.
I'd spend all the wedge on getting Ange in. If we are gonna settle for L1 mid table mediocrity for ever more, atleast a few 5-0 wins will soften the 6-3 defeats.
Im sure they’ve heard of him, and have probably met him, but less sure that he’s the guy to help them out with current BFC matters. Football has changed since JD was in charge of things, I’m not sure how he could help.
For me, neither is the problem. Barring those who live far away, or can’t afford it, or if games are scheduled to when you’re busy, if you’re a fan imo you should go to every game possible. Regardless of league position, kick offs, running of a club. If you don’t, and some won’t like it, imo you’re not the big fan you thought you were. And choosing not to go (when you can afford it etc) is only making the club lose more money. But maybe that’s just me, because to me it’s more about the couple of hours I get to sit laughing and joking with my family and I’m more than happy to spend £400 per season for that.
They can't help but hear him. He sits just behind them and now he doesn't have to be diplomatic in the Directors Box he's free to vent his spleen. He can get quite animated still.
Better fan than you alert. Some folk have real life stuff that is just more important than watching us lose over and over. And there you have it, your real life stuff that's more important than watching us lose over and over. You're going for your family time, not the love of what is currently getting doled up. Your no better than the rest of us.
No better fan post at all haha, hence why I ended it explaining why it’s worth the cost for me. Also, seen as the prompt were talking about is fire sticks and sky deal costing the club fans, I’ll revert to your point of ‘Some folk have real life stuff that is just more important than watching us lose over and over’ so these said fans shouldn’t watch the game via tv anyhow.
There are no ‘biggest fan’ prizes mate, and quite a few of those choosing to stay at home are ST holders, so the club have their money.
There would be a lot of people unemployed for Christmas. We only need a coach and assistant coach, not specific coaches. Get rid of the academy to save a seven figure yearly amount that can be spent somewhere else.
If I were to take over my asset base would half pretty quickly with my wife wanting a divorce. I can never understand why anyone would want to own a football club.
