We robbed them with the fee we got for him. He wasn't worthy anything like and his performances for us in the months leading to his exit didn't show much.

From a monetary view point, best bit of business we've ever done. Probably for him too with the wages he'll be on.

And he's made 31 league starts for Coventry, so it's not like the move has been a complete failure on the football side either.

I doubt he regrets the move for even a second, The opposite I would think.

The months leading to his exit were June, July and August.

I bet he’s gutted he’s not at BFC, playing in front of 5,000 fans, losing every other week.

I’m just glad the club wisely reinvested the cash from his departure, on, *checks notes*, erm, yeah.

Can’t remember who it specifically was but some European side, maybe Austrian or German, have apparently made an enquiry. Be interesting to see where he ends up because he’s a very good footballer and should be playing regularly for someone like Coventry.

My favourite bit about all that...

August: "We received an offer for Liam that was too good to refuse."
Fair enough, I agree, if the amount that was reported in the press is what we received then it was a fantastic amount of money for Kitching. Particularly as he was such a niche player. An attacking centre half. Best attacking centre half I've ever seen to be fair, but not a lot of managers want that. They want a centre half that is really good at defending, particularly if they're paying the sort of money we got for Liam. And the thing is, despite being a centre half, defending wasn't Liam's strong point. He'd improved at defending considerably between us signing him and him leaving but the thing that made him so eye catching wasn't his defending. It was everything else. If you just want a defender, there are a lot better that won't cost you nearly as much.

Anyway, by the time Neerav speaks at the fans forum, "Yes we got a lot of money for Liam, but it's paid in installments, we can't buy any players with it."

IT'S NOT AN OFFER THAT IS TOO GOOD TO REFUSE THEN IS IT! FFS

Just two years ago we had Liam Kitching, Mads Andersen and Bobby Thomas as a back three. One on loan, the other two were unknowns that cost less than a million pounds. Eight million profit. And now I get to watch Maël de Gevigney, Donovan Pines and Josh Earl. Who again, cost less than a million pounds.

Something has gone very badly wrong. Let’s blame Neill Collins / Darrell Clarke.

It’s one persons view & not a single person has replied to it.

Has he been fit & available all season or has he had an injury or suspension that’s led to someone getting in ahead of him & he’s got to bide his time to get back in?

Also, they’ve just come off a 4-1 defeat to Pompey too. I imagine he’s got a great chance of starting a game very shortly.

And he played the majority of their games last season so things aren’t looking too bleak for him.

Hes the type of player I'd want in the trenches with me.

This is what I believe their thought process is...

We've had great success in finding gems from under the radar and sold them for a handsome profit so let's continue to do that. There will be a never ending supply of fantastic players available that no one else has found who we can buy cheap, improve, and sell for enormous profit. And during that improvement they'll gradually take us up the leagues. So let's get a squad of about 30 cheap players together because the more of them we sign, the better we'll become and the more profit we'll make.

I don't think it has occurred to them that really good players at lower levels of football are actually few and far between. That we did remarkably well in the past to discover any at all and that once we've plucked out the good ones there aren't another half a dozen to replace them. I'm sure there will be another Mads Andersen who can be bought for peanuts from a Danish club and go on to play in the Premier League, but not for another 5, 10 or maybe even 20 years. It seems to me like they believe there'll be 3 or 4 every year.

So we spend all our money on putting together a squad of 25 players, none of whom are much good, rather than having a squad of 12 or 13 core players that we've spent a bit more on individually, and we use the academy lads to back them up.

Great deal, where has it been re invested??...... Or are we just to be thankful the lights are still on at Oakwell? Total mis management from those above.

No better than Conway and Chien.

I ain’t arguing in favour of our owners(I think they leave a lot to be desired btw), but if they are putting 8 million quid a year into club to keep it running, how you get that we have 4 million spare to invest mate?
