But you could argue that despite managerial changes, we’re exactly the same, with a play off final and semi in the last two seasons to match theirs, and despite the current uproar from our fans, we’re still well placed with half the season still to play.

Suppose the obvious difference between us and them is their fans have embraced their playoff campaigns over the last two seasons, with average gates of 19 & 21k, which would put them in a better financial position to turn down bids for their manager and better players.

That’s true. But I just look at their transfers in - such as McAtee and to some extent big Vic. They can attract the players due to pumping money in, but also because the players know what they’re getting long term.

Signing for Barnsley over the last few years could be seen as negative due to the turnover of coaches.

You hear it a lot from former players - a manager signs them and talks them into it - then 5 games time they’re sacked and someone else comes in and they’re out of the team for the season, as the new manager doesn’t fancy them.

Doesn’t help when fans have no patience mate. Current manager is seemingly teetering, despite having the third best award record in the division, and the previous one was subject to 2 ‘in or out’ polls last season in here alone, before he was actually sacked, We had big vic, but the jury was always out on him, as is the case with a lot of our players now, they just darent have a bad game, Killip being the most recent example, prior to him it was Connell ‘needing a rest’.

I know this isn’t just our fans, but it’s probably part of why there are very few clubs you’d describe as settled in the whole league.

Social media echo chambers. What were once conversations in pubs and workplaces now take place in ear shot and sight of thousand upon thousands of people, everyone thinks there opinion is the only one that matters and must be heard, instantly. Similar to results… no one’s got time anymore, patience has all but disappeared….

People searching for confirmation bias to back up their opinions jumping on bandwagons and adding noise just fuels the fire along with an inability to see opposite reasoning. whole things fućked
